InactiveWow–maybe I should try that to get some traffic to my sites!
Just kidding–honest. Amazing what some people will try…
On the other hand, if someone starts using my name to spam google with, I’ll probably think, “I’ve made it.” and then smoke a cigar to celebrate…
Probably no way to really stop people from doing that though is there?

InactiveThey arent using your name specifically for a keyword. They are using a text generator and your name happens to be ones of the words it uses. Theres a couple good ones on the net but most are shit. Its only good for cloaking anyway because if a surfer sees it it will look like gobblygook. Kinda like ” Dominique wore a large red casino hat online. It looked great and got alot of nice slots and compliments. Dominique should wear roulette more often as she wears it well and who knows, it may even blackjack, ya just never know….” 😎

InactiveYeah, that accounts for the spammy pages.
The redirects though are weird – they are all to Tropez, Del Rio and Vegas Red. There are at least 3 of them in the top ten of just about any combination of dominique and a gambling keyword I tried.

InactiveI tried out ‘Dominique blackjack’ at Google, and checked out result #1:
It first redirects to
xhttp://earth-of-porn.com/cgi-bin/mod_redir.cgi?20030430:XCSThen, that redirects to
xhttp://banner.casinotropez.com/cgi-bin/redir.cgi?indigo7So, there’s your culprit, ‘indigo7’.
By the way, I’m on a roll recommending tools. Chasing this down was easy with a free program called WebBug, available here:
http://www.cyberspyder.com/webbug.htmlMake sure you select HTTP/1.1 to see these redirects.

InactiveOh yeah, if you’re looking for someone to blame for your Google ills, blame someone like this whose pages have no purpose other than fooling the search engines. That’s why they’re constantly having to change the algorithms.
Spammers, whether SEO or email, are lower than pond scum in my book.
