turbooddsMemberI am certainly seeing the same things on some main sites.
I have removed 100s of links and added daily content and filed over 15 reconsiderations.
Each time they continue to say the same thing – there is no penalty.. LOLYet one site dropped from 300 deposits to around 10 just like that.
Nothing has changed yet – I just see blank sites or one pagers still all over 1st page on google.
I do not see it as a success at all – far from it.

InactiveHave you seen a delayed affect on any sites? For no good reason one of my sites that was not penalized (didn’t drop out of site and no loss of traffic) has been dropping for main keywords. It’s been a slow drop. For example one main keyword we were #2 for and then went to 4, then 5 and now its at #9.
I have NOT added or removed any backlinks since Penguin.
Thanks

Inactivethat slow drop, yes have picked up on that, seing it too!
In my case my biggest issues that needed and need to be to be fixed are my cross linking between sites. On wordpress, a big hit was due to indexing of tags, you need to no-index your tags. I guess this creates a big duplicate content penalty with penquin.

biggygMemberI have one huge casino website which lost PR and some rankings ,the site had 9 exchanges with some very big affiliates and probably I have bought 50 links in 6 years for it(all casino related).I believe we got hit because the site we exchanged links with has been hit hugely for link buying.I did ask for reconsideration and unlike Steve they never replied to me at all.We had good ranks for some killer keywords which we have lost and drop in traffic 33%.
I am just going to leave it alone for now and see what happens.May 30, 2012 at 8:10 pm #824991
turbooddsMemberI hate to say it – but those drops in serps for a couple terms/urls – is usually the start of the whole site being affected. I had two other sites go through the exact same thing. I think that is more Panda related though – which i think eventually triggers a Penguin trigger.

I had the same issue with the tags pages and did as you did.
I also have tons of sitewide links coming in that I need to get placed on just the homepage.

gamblerooMemberI saw a positive effect due to the fact I haven’t got many backlinks at all on my sites. I rely on content and few quality links which are organic.
I hope it continues though – slowly, slowly
