InactiveI think that you’re buying to the “spin” that Google put out about the complexity of their indexes … and their algo …
:blush:The reality has always seemed to me that only about half of their matches are good anyway – and that a rapid network of spammed links to a target site has always resulted in short term gain.
There is almost no manual intervention in these listings – and common sense (for a human) is almost impossible to replicate in the SE results it seems.
Google are GREAT at spin doctoring, great at marketting, and pretty good at putting a bot together … but as for making sense of the net out there … no I don’t really think so.
Of course Google do not really care – they’re an advertising business now – all they want to do is sell ad-words … any way they can !!

InactiveTo a certain extent I disagree. Must remember Google has no control over the Internet. The best the can do is filter what comes through. A good analogy would be email spam. If you put enough weight behind something it will eventually make it through.
Like email spam, spamdexing will always exist. The Internet itself by its’ very design permits this too happen. Must remember there are but a mere dozen volunteer organizations who police the Internet. Spamhouse is one of these non-profit organizations. What they do is catch these BH/seo people through the internet by setting up traps.
Many people do not differentiate between the Internet and the World Wide Web. Both are quite seperate entities.

Have you received the spam email that starts out as text but quickly changes to an image? It usually contains something about some OTC stock.

InactiveGoogle constantly crawls and indexes approx 60,000 sites per second. It is pretty much a machine that can be manipulated to make obscene amounts of money for the manipulator. The penalty for the manipulator failing or getting spotted is usually nothing.

I have received lots of spam email. I was thinking about doing an article on the subject. Most of the ones I receive are coming from zombie machines. tracing them is often difficult for this reason.

InactiveDhayman, I have yet to see Google ignore my spam reports. The ones you have mentioned would be pretty tough too take out. In any case I will give it a try and accept the bombshells that always follow.
Would it be possible to PM me with your spam results once a week. I prefer to be a little discrete when it comes to these matters.

InactiveThe hacked websites deal has been around for a few months now, and it seems that Google is finally putting an end to it, or at least moving them to the back of the bus.
It was about time, IMO, they should be pretty easy to detect.
