Hi friends!
Google has NOT YET decided, if they are going to stop online gambling international!! We have just heard it from a Google worker.
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IF WE ACT FAST, so please, everybody: send Google an e-mail or phone them to tell them not to stop international listings! Also tell them, that Overture does not stop international listing for online gambling, because I dont think Google knows this.
As you all know, in many countries it is totally legal to advertise online gambling – it is no different than opening a flower store.
So if we all contact Google, and tell them it is not fair if they stop online gambling adword links in these contries, I dont think they will stop online gambling adwords, – especially when they hear Overture is going to allow online gambling international. With Google we will then still be able make some money in UK, Canada and other countries, where it is total legal – and the pressure on normal search engine listings will be much much smaller.
write them/phone them soon as posiple at adwords :

April 7, 2004 at 11:42 pm #647643AnonymousInactiveI’ve done my part. They have received a rather lenghty email regarding both online casinos and pharmacy advertising.
I hope they have the sense and to act on their own without being pressured by and pending legislation that may or may not ever be put in place.
April 8, 2004 at 1:00 am #647646AnonymousInactiveI emailed them a letter also.
April 8, 2004 at 2:21 am #647654AnonymousInactiveThanks. And, yes it is very important that WE ALL react. Everyone from webmasters to casinos. EVERYONE who is listed on Google (including the “organinc” listings), because I am sure the big casinos and webmasters will try take over the “non-pay” listings with hundreds of thousands of dollars
if adwords also stop online gambling international .WE can still make a difference if we complain as a COHESIVE group. If there was any time that we should band together….it is NOW!
What is next….will they remove all gambling listings completely!! Why stop at only the PAY listings.
REACT NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

adwords-support@google.comApril 8, 2004 at 2:27 am #647656AnonymousGuestI just emailed Google a letter, as well.
April 8, 2004 at 5:01 am #647659AnonymousInactiveI just spoke to Google yesterday about this subject…
They told me I could not target Canada or the UK.
Typical double-talk…. left hand doesn’t know what the right one is doing.
April 8, 2004 at 9:04 am #647662AnonymousInactiveTheir left hand knows. This is already decided. I don’t know where the first post in this thread comes from, but Google announced its policy.
April 8, 2004 at 12:06 pm #647666AnonymousInactiveHello Randy,
Thank you for your email and feedback regarding our online gambling
policy. We’ve thought very hard about our stance on online gambling
advertising, and have decided not to permit advertisements for online
gambling. To be as consistent and fair as possible, this is a global
policy, applied to all online gambling advertisers and affiliates. We stand behind our decision, and as stated in our Terms and
Conditions,
we reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion regarding the
kinds
of advertising we accept in the AdWords program. This only concerns our
advertising and in no way affects the search results we deliver. Google
offers broad access to content across the web without censoring
results. We appreciate your comments on this issue, which will help inform our
future policy discussions. Thank you for taking the time to write us.Please feel free to email us at adwords-support@google.com if you have
any
additional questions or concerns.Best regards,
CarolynApril 8, 2004 at 4:53 pm #647685AnonymousInactiveWell…
There ya have it.
I’ve never liked the name Carolyn, either…
April 8, 2004 at 6:38 pm #647694AnonymousInactiveIt’s a moot point now, but this is what they sent me:
GAMBLING POLICYThank you for contacting us about the upcoming online gambling policy
changes.Within the next couple of weeks, we’ll stop accepting new Google AdWords
accounts promoting online gambling. We’ll also notify current AdWords
advertisers affected by our recent decision. We expect to complete the
transition to the new advertising policy by the end of April. As a business Google must make decisions regarding the advertising we
accept. As stated in our Terms and Conditions*, we reserve the right to
exercise editorial discretion when reviewing AdWords ads created within
the program. This decision only concerns our advertising and in no way
affects the search results we deliver. Google offers broad access to
content across the web without censoring results. Please feel free to email us at adwords-support@google.com if you have
additional questions or concerns.April 8, 2004 at 6:39 pm #647695AnonymousInactiveAlmost forgot, pharmacy programs may have a problem also:
PHARMACEUTICAL POLICYWe are working closely with a third party to develop more robust online
pharmacy advertising requirements. We’ll be sending out advance notice and
further detail to our current advertisers affected by our recent decision
within the next week. We then expect to implement our new advertising
policy by mid-May.As stated in our Terms and Conditions*, we reserve the right to exercise
editorial discretion when reviewing AdWords ads created within the
program. This decision only concerns our advertising and in no way affects
the search results we deliver. Google offers broad access to content
