I’m wouldn’t hold your breath on these beheamoths opening up their platforms to online gambling any time soon. It seems that the states are pushing hard for online gambling now, and until legalization happens at the Federal level (i.e., reversal of UIGEA), don’t expect anything to happen on this front. It will take years to unwind UIGEA, if at all, especially, since the Dems will probably lose their majority this coming election.

I’m not so sure about that. If this state-by-state thing gets going — and I honestly think there’s a better shot for state laws working with the UIGEA than there is for a federal repeal of the UIGEA, especially since Obama doesn’t seem to care about the issue — that may eventually build to a new national online gambling network. I think that Google will be plenty to happy to lift the ban on iGaming just as soon as they know it’s legally okay to do so, like they did in the UK.

But either way, things are getting interesting, aren’t they? I’m not sure any of this will be good for casino affiliate marketers … but then again, it might be. It’s so hard to tell.
