GuestI thought it was high, but I’m no expert.
I stopped trading after watching my shares turn to dust during Nasdaq plummet a couple years ago

vladcizsolMemberThis will be a meltdown of epic proportions. I just hope the rest of the tech sector doesnt get whacked by this boat anchor.

InactiveI’ve seen this before with a lot of IPOs. The price goes up and up as demand is there and everyone attempts to make a quick buck. Afterwards the stock usualy plunges.
Do I think the stock is over valued? In my opinion, Yahoo has a better market share, since it owns Overture. That does not mean I would buy Yahoo as it’s current prices, and it certainly means that I think google is way over valued

GuestYou need to have impecable timing to make a profit on a new public offering. Hmmmm…..its a lot like gambling. Nay, it’s exactly like gambling.
I’d wait until the dust settles, and then take a second look at google.

InactiveI very much doubt that the average investor tasted that 15% profit.

InactiveThis reminds me. The first time I ever tried the stock market I tried an IPO. I dont remember what stock it was, I just wanted to get in because IPOs were the cool thing. By the time my market order went through the stock had gone up 30% or so. The stock never went up after that, it stayed that way for a long time and then gradually it went down. I held on way too long thinking i could at least recoup my money. I think I spent 5k and walked away with 20% of that.
