    Hi friends!

I have 3 sites about roulette, 2 English, 1 German. After great results in my first year as Affilaite Marketer, I now want to translate my sites into other languages.

Which countries do you recomment? I did some research, as some countries clearly ban gambling, such as turkey, so it would be worthless to translate Affilaite Sites into these languages.

Anyway I would first start with

    1) Spanisch
    2) French
    3) Portugues – I am a bit unsure about this. I have seen some Portuges players in my casino affiliate account, but I read that they are going to ban online gambling, too
    4) Italy – Maybe the country is too small. Anyone with Italian sites which run well ?
    5) Greece – I have seen a few Greece depositors who lost much money, so this would be interesting too. Any experience with this market?
    6) Netherlands – Should work I guess
    7) Swedish – I have no idea, is it worth ?? I had a few signups from Sweden, but no Depositors…

What about other languages: Poland, Arab Emirates (I had a few depositors from there, too, but Muslim world and gambling is a NoGo, I guess. Anyone with experience ??)

Any other countries which are good to target, which I forgot ??

    – What it the best approach. Put the translated sites as subpages, e.g. index.htm is english and “roulette-systems-french.htm” is the french translation. Or better use subdomains like fr.MYDOMAINNAME.com ?? I think the first option is better, but I am not totally sure… The sites do not have much content, a index page with about 4000 words, Impressum and Disclaimer pages…

Are you only focusing on your own language or are you translating your sites. SEO becomes a bit more difficult, but there is many wasted traffic if you only concentrate on your own language. What are your experiences? Was it worth the money for the translation service ?? How long did it take to make the money back and which countries gave the most value in depositors ??

    Thanks Matt

I think first and foremost you shouldn’t rule out any particular language just because online gaming is illegal in that country.. remember – there are people who speak that language living in other places! Also, that would rule our Greece too – I believe it’s also illegal there..
I’d agree to stear clear of Turkey as a country – there are some good players there, but I’d steer clear just because the processing is really bad.

I think the main languages you will find people tell you to target are french, italian and spanish… there are some decent players coming from the scandinavian countries too…

personally, i think if you organise your pages with -french on the end of the filenames, you might find its harder to manage.. subdomains with all the same filenames would prove to be easier to manage. This will help the most when you start to expand the translated sections to more than 3 pages..

I can’t comment on ROI for translations.. someone else might be able to comment on that..

The most commonly used options are directories one level below the root such as yoursite.com/fr/ or using a subdirectory like fr.yoursite.com
