They were so prone to click fraud I say good riddens !!! I believe their lack of announcing this says a lot about the kind of people they are! That’s totally not unacceptable business practice! :toidy:

Well, their traffic had deterioated greatly over the last year due to fraudulent clicks, but its still not a good sign of where we are headed in 2005. We continue to lose advertising outlets (even if they are shitty ones) and I dont like that one bit.

Well if the “big guys” (it would take some funding) would take some initiative they could create a new advertising outlet for ppc based in honesty and a ppc with integrity would sweep the internet in no time flat.

Which “Big Guys” would these be Arkyt? Where would these big guys get traffic for this venture that would be comparable to the reach of Overture or Google?

Why would “Big Guys” do this and if they did and were the only outlet accepting online gambling ads would the “little guys” be willing to pay up to $30 per click for this traffic?

Come to think of it, if the traffic was legitimate why would the “Big Guys” even WANT to sell it?

I am not a “Big Guy”, but I can tell you real traffic is so hard to come by these days I wouldnt sell it.

I am not surprized that Go Click has joined the other ppc’s. Really was surprized they kept online gambling ads as lond as they did. Many webmasters have talked about developing a ppc search engine in the recent past. The problem I see is getting enough quality traffic through to the ppc to make it worth while. As far as selling traffic from our individual sites its out of the question. As the Professor stated traffic is harder to get these days. Still this is not a good thing. The days of the ppc has come to a end.

Big Guys as in people who have the funding that would be required to get a worthy ppc off the ground …

I never used PPC until this past year and then only used it for a few months – my experience was that it was FULL of click fraud. I personally wont miss that traffic one bit.

I don’t see why these large companies keep dropping gambling related and adult related keywords, they’re missing out on a HUGE market.

Most likely they’re cracking under the enormous pressure of unwarranted threats. Its a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful world we “exist” in.
