goldelottoMemberHaven’t done it myself, but have heard of it. At the end of the day it may not make the greatest amount, but I can’t imagine it takes too much effort either.

voodoomanMemberThere maybe no interest charged but the catch may be monthly and yearly service fees. Also you may not be able to withdraw the cash and would only be allowed to make purchases from vendors. The bank charges the vendor a percentage of the transaction. Thats how they make money.
No ways are they going to allow you free access to their money without making something in return. :tooconfus

InactiveThis was similar to what a lot of people did at uni when they got a student loan with a low interest rate and simply shoved the money in a high interest account or ISA – It won’t make you rich but it doesn’t hurt!
I was always interested in possibly getting involved with this site – Anyone have any experience with it xxxxxhttp://www.zopa.com/ZopaWeb/

InactiveAlex,
I’ve not done Zopa, but have played around with Prosper, similar type of social lending site. Be very careful about reading the fine print. From the Zopa site, “In 2007, lenders have been getting their money lent out at an average rate of 7% pa, with rates in most C markets averaging above 10% pa (figures are after fee, before bad debt).”
Those figues are before bad debt! Depending on Zopa’s ability to make people repay back the loans, bad debt could really cut down on any rates you make. Prosper has been stating 9-13% returns, but many people have lost money on bad loans in the process.

InactiveIf I recall correctly, CNN had a segment on it a while back here in the US.
Here almost all the 0% offers are for a few months. When card holders transfer money from an interest bearing card to one of those 0% offers it gets transfered as a cash advance which is calculated at a much higher % rate than a purchase.
I would imagine transfering the credit limit to some sort of banking product is considered a cash advance also.
USA savings accounts don’t pay much in the way of interest so the money is usually put in a higher yielding choice such as a a money market account, mutual fund or CD which may carry penalties for early withdrawal should you need the money for something.
Plus you still have to make the monthly creditcard payments, miss a payment on the 0% card and things could fall apart pretty quickly.
Imho, it is not worth the risk. The downside is too great.

InactiveEveryone making money for nothing, how delightful
Money always has a distinct pattern, it travels all over the world and gets to meet everyone, but in the end money always ends up in the same place, Luxembourg, under the name of Rockefeller, then it’s shipped off to Geneva where the “Legion of Terror” makes deals for our lives and our land
Of course i might just be a bit paranoid
I guess it’s up to us to catch as much money as we can as it passes by us, ultimately u are judged in this world by how much u have, no matter who u are
The trouble with devoting your life to that game is that u can never win, u will never have more money than those who control it, and will always be inferior, so u spend your life working like a slave until u die, and even worse u bring a kid into that world and he grows up knowing no other way, and it just goes on and on
Luckily the majority of people in the world aren’t like that yet, and luckily they don’t have such extreme views on the subject like i do, i happen to come from a nearly extinct clan of old school opium warriors who shared everything and made sure everyone was taken care of and not made to feel inadequate in any way within the tribe, of course we were also notorious looters and hated by everyone, but what can u do, such were the cards we were dealt
As far as Stoozing goes, money is there to be used, not saved, u get it and pass it on, cuz if u have too much, big money will come and take it from u, that’s why these guys like buddy from Bodog are getting hunted by the feds
U gotta love this world, always some kind of scam popping up
Don’t get me started about money, me and money never liked eachother, and i’m about to blow the cover off the whole charity scam, all the money u donate to saving Darfur actually goes towards killing Darfur, and the money donated to Cancer research goes towards researching new ways to give people Cancer, and at a younger age too
I guess i just kinda flew right off course there, had to get it off my chest, money got me all stressed out these days, what else is new
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, i’d like to actually see how this Stoozing works, somebody gotta be paying for it, it better not be me
