Yes there was discussion about this several weeks ago. Gaming Partners has indeed been acquired. I am not sure about their integration plans or if they intention is to continue the brand as a stand alone offering.

I will try to find out what their future plans are and post back.

according to that old thread, gaming partners will continue on operating as a separate entity. not sure whether that makes anyone feel any better.
