I have sold Gamesandcasino as of today.

Transfer of ownership is currently in escrow.

If you also want to sell your sites, I will broker it for you. Sites must have income and will be taken off your hands immediately.

Obviously value is not what it was just a few short weeks ago.

Please PM me details and I will try to expedite sales to meet the deadline of the signing of the law.

Dom, can you shed some light on your thinking that went into this enormous decision? Just hours ago you were suggesting a wait-and-see approach. What exactly did you see that made you decide to sell off your 5 years of hard work so quickly with such resolution?

wow, that is crazy, congrats on the sale. I am surprised that the big players are selling….but I guess it’s to be expected.

Dom, as a newbie I have payed close attention to your posts and have come to greatly respect your business sense as well as your compassion.

I find your announcement jaw-droppingly stunning. I have been searching all day for posts from you in the threads concerning the bill. I consider your announcement the answer I have been seeking today – I was previously undecided if I should continue on, if this was all just a big scare or if this was (business) life-changing.

The sale of your website is a sign of the beginning of the end to a business I have grown to love, and I will truly miss the remarkable souls that inhabit this forum.

I greatly regret not having the opportunity to attend any of the conventions, and especially to meet the faces behind the signatures I have come to know so well.

I would like to thank each and every person here for their limitless generosity – both in encouragement to the newbies, and for the vast amount of knowledge shared. Dom, your enthusiasm was infectious and your fairness and business accumen admirable. I wish you great success in your next venture and thank you, especially, for being so good to us!

I am surprised you didn’t wait a little longer. But the old saying haste makes waste could be applied here.
    I hope you made out.

Actually, this has been long coming and I have been considering it and talking to various people since January. Time to sell had come sometime before these news hit.

G&C has become a huge site (over 3000 pages) with enormous upkeep and I prefer managing something that doesn’t take up every waking moment of my time. G&C will be continued with the same integrity and selectiveness I have always given it.

The latest news just gave me that final needed push and while I am sad to see my baby go, I am also relieved and feel like a burden has been lifted.

I will not disappear and I plan to start a free game site (which is what gamesandcasino originally was) and will also expand into other online industries. I have learned much from running G&C and plan to put it to good use. I have embarked on many enterprises in my life, and the one thing they have all in common is that I like to grow things. I will get right back to doing that.

My loyalties are always with my staff, and they will stay with me.

I love this industry, so many extremely bright people, both affiliates and managers. I will stay in touch with all and if CAP goes down, you will be able to find me at http://www.affcommunity.com

The people who bought my site are willing to quickly buy others who are worried about what will happen after the signing of the bill. While G&C still has all the free games traffic, most other sites will have little intrinsic value so they will be bought on speculation with the knowledge that they will have to be next to zero income for some time to come.

So prices will be a lot lower than a few weeks ago, but transfers will be swift so no one will be in non-compliance with the law, and I personally guarantee the payment.

It beats just taking them down by a long shot.

So that’s the state of affairs at G&C.

That said, I will be here and at any conferences that may be scheduled, and likely we will just have get togethers anyway. This is not a goodbye by a long shot, you can’t get rid of me this easily. biggrin.gif

I have to say, I’m really surprised by this. I am selling as well, and I recognize that my site will not be worth what it was, but I think it’s odd to say that they will be “next to zero” income for some time. The players aren’t going to disappear overnight, the regulations will take a while to put into place…the pressing issue right now is that sites are no longer accepting US players, but plenty still will, and have come forward and said so. I do think people are overreacting, imho. US traffic will be worth something for a while still, and if I were a non-US affiliate I would be taking advantage of the situation. If I were a US affiliate who was willing to live a bit on the edge, I’d take advantage as well.
