Inactivesimmo, what do you mean sucked out? http://www.gamling.com sounds like a legitmate domain?

Inactivegambling.com would not be sold at ebay, and is worth a lot more than $10,000.
Someone should tell gambling.com about this.

Look again it is not http://www.gambling.com for sell but http://www.gamblíng.com , boy the bidders will be pleased huh. So I don’t see a violation just selling you a Fird instead of Ford.

InactiveI don’t think you can register the special letter though, so is gamblíng.com even a domain at all?
October 24, 2005 at 10:30 pm #674994Anonymous
InactiveI didn’t even see it.
Bet there are many others who don’t…

Inactiveyeah i bet the person that bid didnt notice either..

InactiveNo, you can’t register a special character for a domain. And, I don’t think gambling.com would be selling on eBay for $10K after it was just purchased for millions of dollars and restructed into a PPC search engine. Definitely a fake.
Tried leaving a comment on eBay, but it doesn’t show publicly until the seller responds to it I guess.

InactiveIt’s an IDN…that’s all. Worthless? Yes. eBay Cannon fodder? Seems to be working. :hehe:

InactiveI noticed how the seller only accepted a wire transfer as payment…
I really hope no one goes through with buying it.October 25, 2005 at 4:42 am #675006Anonymous

.com an IDN????October 25, 2005 at 7:10 am #675014Anonymous
InactiveYup. Its an IDN. Thats why its all a con. Since earlier this year you can register domains with “special characters”. Look closely at the “i”.
I dont know the ins and outs of IDN (crap idea IMHO) but essentially someone would have to type in http://www.gambl-.?*~!ing.com to get to that domain !
Its a big rip-off that fraudsters can exploit (as in this case). ICANN should never have allowed it to happen.

InactiveThe actual domain he’s selling is: xn--gamblng-cza.com
If you’re browser can handle IDNs you can type in gamblíng.com but otherwise you have to type xn--gamblng-cza.com
The jury is still out on whether IDNs have much value, my opinion is that they don’t.
Convertor is here http://www.sedo.co.uk/idn/index.php4
