The installation process from G-FED Casinos modifies 7 files, one of this files is
called “hosts” located in the following path
C:windowssystem32driversetchosts
GFED casino software has altered this file and add a spyware on it.
Regularly a computer use a host file to resolve dns names when their is a software
installed on the computer. This Spyware denies access to other casino sites. Before installing the GFED -PINKLADY casino hosts file is about 2 Kbytes, after
software installation almost doubled its size to 4.40 k bytes,Now you may think what makes this file so big??
First of all the original file is about 19 lines, GFED insert 1175 blank lines and in the
last line they add the following line 255.255.255.255 http://www.theblackjacktable.com
Below how the hosts file looks like after they modify it:
# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a ‘#’ symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host127.0.0.1 localhost
255.255.255.255 http://www.theblackjacktable.com
255.255.255.255 http://www.casinoxo.com
255.255.255.255 http://www.royaldutchcasino.com

Here’s the GF statement:
First off, please allow us to extend our apologies for this major issue. We owe all of you an explanation regarding this.
A few months ago, we received several spam complaints from our players being sent by the domains you found in your host file. At first we tried to calm our players down, stating that we had nothing to do with these properties and were not responsible for their actions. However, the issue repeated itself several times within a short time span, causing us a mass influx of complaints.
We decided, albeit foolishly, to resolve this issue by blocking the domains which cause our players grief through the software. We did not intend to ever block any one else, nor impair revenues for affiliates. We now realize that this was not the right way to go about this problem. We will be issuing a fix for this very shortly and we will correct this problem within 24 hours.
We sincerely apologize,
Talia

We owe all of you an explanation regarding this.
A few months ago, we received several spam complaints from our players being sent by the domains you previously found in your host file. At first we tried to calm our players down, stating that we had nothing to do with these properties and were not responsible for their actions. However, the issue repeated itself so many times within a short time span, causing us an mass influx of complaints.
We decided, albeit foolishly, to resolve this issue by blocking the domains which cause our players grief through the software. By associating the domain to an non existent IP, the spam cannot load in the person’s computer, people who where receiving the spam had the images in the spam blocked. So this protects the person from being subjected to the spam coming from those domain names. . We did not intend to ever block any one else, nor impair revenues for affiliates.
We have issued an update that removes those changes in the host file.
To install the repair simply open the Gambling Federation casino software and let it load up; it prompts you for an update, let it install the update.
Once the software restarts the host file will be repaired.Again, we deeply apologize for this situation, we understand your frustration.
If ever you are still experiencing problems,
please contact me by private message or post in the forum,
I’ll assist you.

talia@gamblingfederation.comFebruary 18, 2005 at 9:16 pm #661800AnonymousInactiveStatement from Flaviano – CEO of Gambling Federation
Dear Members of the ForumGambling Federation would like to offer our response to issues raised in the Casinomeister forum entitled, “Gambling Federation Malware.”
While our actions were not justified, readers of this message thread should know that Gambling Federation is a victim of an orchestrated attack to mislead our players. Over the past few months, we received numerous complaints from our players enquiring about unsolicited promotional e-mail delivered to a player’s e-mail address that was used only to communicate with Gambling Federation casinos. After reviewing the complaints from our players, it become apparent that one of our ex-employees was inappropriately and unethically stealing part of our player list, contacting our players and promoting non-Gambling Federation casinos.
We recognize that are actions were based on emotive judgment; we reacted to an unethical attack by applying the same philosophy with which our company was unfairly attacked. Regardless of our reasoning, we would like to extend our apologies to the investors and employees of Gambling Federation and in particular all our players and affiliates that have contributed to the success of our company over the years.
Gambling Federation continues to be committed to the free market and responsible business practices. We are also convinced that time will clearly demonstrate that we were in fact a victim in this matter. We will never use and have never used any tactics toward a legitimate and reputable competitor, like the vast majority of our competitors.
We want also like to thank our colleagues and associates that have communicated, publicly and privately, their support for Gambling Federation over the past few days.
