InactiveHey Everyone,
Gambling.com rejected listing CFC this past week. They are not going to allow gambling portals to advertise. Only casinos! They suck!August 1, 2004 at 2:16 pm #652888Anonymous

InactiveSeems like refusing to list portals would be foolish. If someone’s searching for blackjack or video poker, they’re probably looking for something more specific than just a list of online casinos.

vladcizsolMemberIts important to note that Gambling.com IS a portal also.
I know the owner Graeme and I would imagine he’s not keen on empowering his competition by allowing them to advertise on his site.
Think about it. Would You sell clicks off of your top ranked portal to another portal?
Some might, but I doubt wether many successful webmasters would.
OBTW if you are a successful portal operator and have top ranking for the term Gambling at all the major search engines and want to sell clicks to the rest of us portal owners please post info so we can order

InactiveHi Prof
I believe Graeme sold gambling.com awhile ago.I agree they can do whatever they want on there portal. I just posted to let people know that have gambling.com banners and links on there sites for voting purpose they ran, that they might as well remove those links as they are not getting anything in return.

vladcizsolMemberNope the deal fell thru. It was announced that Gambling.com had been sold, and indeed Graeme had attempted to sell it, but about a month or two later it was announced the buyer did not fulfill the agreed upon payment terms and ownership reverted back to Graeme.

Guestk-ching! I imagine he pocketed a nice amount from what was put upfront – as it sounds like it might have went that far.
ps,
thanks Prof for putting that in a perspective I can respect.

InactiveAre you sure about that Prof? Graeme was starting up a new business last time I spoke to him at the last conference and this was some time after the sale of gambling.com, he did not mention anything to me?

vladcizsolMemberI am positive I read it in a news release. I am looking around now to see if I can locate it. I remember it was published about two or three months after the initial sale to IGH was announced. I remember reading that IGH did not meet the agreed upon payment schedule. I read IGH had problems with their stock offering which they had planned to use to generate the cash needed to complete the Gambling.com sale along with other aquisitions they had in the works.
Now that’s not to say they didn’t correct the problem and finally pull the deal off, but I do recall reading that report.

InactiveGambling.com was bought in a management buyout – the new CEO is Tim Rosenberg, not Tim Johnson.

InactiveAll I know is what I was told and that was Tim Johnson. The person that told me worked on projects together with Graeme as well as Belle Rock. But not going to say I know forsure, cuz it is second hand information.
