nsaadehMemberI took some advice from elsewhere and decided to remove advertising for sale space as well as PPC banner as I dont think it is worth selling your visitors for a few cents, I would really appreciate it if someone can look and give me any further feedback
ThankyouApril 23, 2009 at 4:55 pm #798976
queriesresolvedMemberNot bad, no Casinorip or Victor Chandler though

Are you going to no follow the external links? Also on your contact us page etc (and no index the low value pages like contact us etc), keep your PR juice.
The left menu when hovered is a little confusing owing the the blank fill. You can either use jquery or custom CSS to change this (drop me an email and I will see if I can help)
I would highly recommend making the gambleaware image an actual text link or to make the image a hyperlink, with a DOfollow.
With the homepage featured post I would recommend putting in a text link into the body of the text as images really don’t get clicked as often as well placed hyperlinks. There needs to be a clear call to action as well.
Overall there is a consistent theme and feel to the site. I personally like rounded borders, but this one words with straight edges.

nsaadehMemberI am pretty new to this as my web designer left me in the lurch – I am not sure what a “no follow the external links” means or how to do it” I actually have both VC and Casinorip so I will probably be adding them at some point
Any help would be much aprreciated
Thankyou very much for your feedback

queriesresolvedMemberSorry to hear that your designer went AWOL.
Basically adding you add rel=”nofollow” after the
Try the new casinoripWhat this does is to tell the search engines not to follow where this link goes. By supplying a standard link you are saying to the search engines that in some way you vouch for the site you are referring people to, therefore any page rank you have could leek to the linking site. While it is contested, most affiliates follow this method. And to some extent to some search engines it ‘kind of’ hides the fact that you are an affiliate (as SE’s are not extremely affiliate friendly). There are better way’s of link cloaking but this is the fastest one for you right now.
No index is a separate item, you update your robots file to say to the search engines do not index certain pages, therefore you should not see them in the SERPS (the results when searching for a term).
Please feel free to give me a call/email if you would like some help
That’s what we do.Stephen

EvelinessaMemberOverall, I think that the site looks pretty good. As mentioned above, no following the links may be a good idea and you also may want to think about changing the page title a little bit to make it a bit more descriptive. Rarely do sites only have their domain name, or page name in their Page title.
I’d also suggest writing up a poker glossary for your own site, rather than linking out to another site (which it looks like you’re doing now). It gets a bit confusing from a usability standpoint.
Lastly, when i click the Poker Rooms Tab, for some reason the poker glossary tab disappears. Just a bug, but figured i should let ya know :3eyes:

Thankyou, the reason the tab disappears is that I only link to it on the mainpage, I am thinking of adding a page that is for Poker Tools, with items such as PokerTracker, Poker calculator and sharkscope so I will remove the link then and maybe put an exchange link in the forum itself
