InactiveI don’t promote full tilt for this reason.
I have also stopped promoting other places that have excessive fees.

InactiveThose fees seem excessive. Too bad because Full Tilt is a good quality poker room. Hopefully their affiliate program will catch up to the same quality.

InactiveI don’t promote these guys, and I actually don’t do much with poker so far, so take what I say with a grain of salt…
This seems relevant to several recent discussions here, where various programs are tightening up their terms. At least in this case they seem to be upfront about the calculations. These are just some of the many items that cost a casino or poker room that are often not explicitly addressed in the affiliate program terms.
Consider the following things:
- Whatever method players use to deposit costs the casino some percentage.
- Bonuses? They go straight to the bottom line (unless they are non-withdrawable).
- Promotional points or whatever. Again, a straight expense.
- Paying players via Neteller or whatever costs fees too.
- Paying AFFILIATES via Neteller costs money too.
I don’t have a problem with these kinds of items being used in the calculations. In fact, if you’ll just give me a reliable percentage of the real profit a player generates for the real lifetime of that player, I’m happy.

InactiveYou do need to watch the fees. Some places charge a lot more than others. They like to say they pay the highest percentage – and then the fees set in and your percentage is a lot lower.
There is a program I won’t name that I sent exactly one player to last month. (must have overlooked a link when pulling them). This player deposited $100 and lost it all. I earned $10 comission. The program advertises 27% comission.
Bonuses are not real money – they only become so if the player wins and is allowed to withdraw the bonus along with the deposit and winnings. Most of the time bonuses are fictional money.
I am not saying that as parteners we shouldn’t pay any fees.
I am saying however that many of the formulas are so convoluted that it’s impossible to figure out what percentage one is actually earning.
Simmo, how about a feed for webmasters that displays the current fees charged and percentages paid and a few other choice T&C items for affiliates?
The same for player bonuses would be interesting too.
