It will depend on the various rules and regs that may or may not be applied. It’s all total speculation at this stage … but hey that’s why we have a forum eh?
    :hehe:

I agree with you that there will be many operators in the market – just as there is in Europe right now – but in most markets you do find that the 80/20 rule applies.

Specifically 80% of the profit is taken by 20% of the operators.

As as for the likelihood of where they are based … I can imagine that a popular US based casino with name brand recognition will attract more US players than an virtual internet brand.

Would you prefer to play at VirtualGold casino (as a made up example) or at Caesars Palace?

What if Caesars offer real world comps (like a free hotel room – or free show – next time you’re visiting Las Vegas) as well ?

So I think that the landscape will change – but it’s exciting – not disappointing.
    The swift will survive.
    The customers will be redistributed.
    Get ready …

I have pushed many small-time no name white labels over the years up against companies doing $50,000,000 a year in this business. I saw a few things. Slightly harder to convert, slightly harder to retain then going up against a mega casino. There will always be ways to compete and offer different reasons for people to have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th option other then Harrahspoker.com. I BEG for the chance!!! I hope it happens. For it NOT to happen then the EU, WTO and others will have to get royally screwed by the us govt.

This is the Grey Area that we are in now, caused by this govt. If they blocked the outside companies out of the US market and made it Vegas only as their regulation tactic, then they would cause huge problems with the world. That just won’t happen. The only other option would be to allow free-trade and regulate it, and these guys are not going to do it because they are against gambling. So for a few years – this is what we get! Prohibition. Makes sense to me.
