InactiveThis isn’t a completely new commercial. They were running it frequently about 6 to 8 months ago.
It is possible that they feel threatened, although I’m not sure poker itself is their cause for concern. Online gambling forces them to think about something they’ve never really had to worry about before: competition. (Having Mohegan Sun nearby is hardly competition.)
As more people discover the internets and all of their wonderful tubes, they are probably also realizing that the games offered at online casinos are a better bet than the majority of games offered at Foxwoods.
Of course, the notion of competition goes out the window if online casinos cannot pay players, which appears to be an increasing source of frustration lately. Instant payment is a huge advantage that land-based casinos have over tube-based casinos.

InactiveI agree 100% with the payout issue.
That is the one thing i think that could really hurt are business, is either of these two…Casinos that don’t pay, and having a hard time finding a way to collect thier winnings…i have a hard enough time now, collecting affiliate earning, not because the affiliates aren’t paying, but because every time i turn around, another ewallet, or bank or…etc…has decided not to except payments.
I really hope this gets nipped in the butt soon, so we can get our players back in the business of feeling secure with the fact that getting thier winnings, is not a problem.

InactiveI’ve only been to Vegas once, but I would have thought the amosphere playing in a land casino made up for the poor returns? I enjoy both but if I lived in the US Republic, I would still go to land casinos.
And tell me they aren’t banning smoking in Vegas casinos?!?! Yikes. I can see that the smoking issue is a potential threat – that would definately take off the gloss.

InactiveLand based casinos are stupid. They should just make Foxwoods Online and cover both. Yes, the laws don’t allow it but those laws aren’t applicable everywhere. I mean, what about those Macau casinos, why don’t they have online branches?
