Those are impressive stats.
Facebook can be distracting and I know of a few companies that ban it completely.
I use it for keeping in contact with affiliates/friends – also, affiliates know I am not just an email address.
It has its disadvantages too but overall can be used to good effect
January 10, 2008 at 9:01 pm #758371DEALERWEB24MemberI signed up because of this thread..its just another myspace. As for making industry connections, I searched for a few minutes for affiliate gambling groups couldn’t find a anything. There is no discussion, not even profiles where i could learn more about the person or how to contact them by email.

January 11, 2008 at 4:17 am #758407biggygMemberI have a good idea ,let’s skip facebook and just talk and exchange pics here LOL.
January 11, 2008 at 1:54 pm #758438DEALERWEB24MemberYeah i joined both groups. But there is nothing going on really. Its just a circle jerk. But in all seriousness it seems the only way to get to know people in this industry is to attended these conferences. That is out of the question for me at moment. I have a fear of flying and non-whites. But to be serious i don’t have any money..

Although the “tag” feature is a touch scary if you get cought out drunk with a terriable face on….January 11, 2008 at 9:31 pm #758477AnonymousInactiveMy biggest concern is that people u do business with get a look into your personal life, which can be a problem, especially for me since my behaviour is offensive to many lol
It works both ways i suppose, but sometimes it’s better to remain under the cloud of anonymity when business is at stake, so i try to restrict it to people i deal with frequently or get a good vibe from
Greece is creating a Greek only Facebook and other countries will probably follow suit because of all the wannabee little spies trying to weasel into your profile
Aside from that it’s pretty good, especially if u wanna hook up with girls u didn’t get a chance to date in high school
January 12, 2008 at 8:38 pm #758551AnonymousInactiveIf someone tags you in a photo you can untag it, if you think it is not a good photo and want it gone all off facebook then just report it, the person does not get into trouble they just(facebook team) remove the photo.
Mixing a biz Facebook with a private life one is just silly and asking for trouble..lol I have everything private and I will not add anyone to my friends list that I don’t think is safe, you can also set the privacy on certain people and allow them to see only certain things..
January 12, 2008 at 9:56 pm #758559wabbit500MemberI find XING (http://www.xing.com) better organized than FACEBOOK.

Agreed that people using facebook don’t expect to be marketted to – and tolerance is low.
It seems to be a place for tweenies and teenies to spend their time frantically pinging away at their friends, and trying to collect the greatest nubmer of contacts.
Basically, if you send hundreds (or thousands) of texts a month to your friends that say nothing more intelligent than “what ya up to ?” then facebook is for you.
I dont know man… I thought the same thing once abuot myspace and a friend made so much on there that I sat back and could kick myself.
Then I realized this once again (Traffic = $$) no matter really where it comes from.. if people goto it then there is a market to be had.
I have put off facebook and myspace for far to long and its time I take some time to do it.So…. are you not allowed to have a gambling related profile on there I take it?
January 16, 2008 at 12:26 pm #758792GregMemberI know from experience! Jeremy tagged a shocker of me from CAP Spring Break, and I’m always going in and untagging those which show me late in the night….!
But I like it for the birthday reminders, and to see the pictures (of others!) from events. But I am so over the poking of people, and all those applications.
January 27, 2008 at 6:06 am #759482Pol PittMemberIn my opinion Facbook fits a very specific type of people and not all of us.
I registered on Facebook 3 months ago and still think its a waste of time for me. In terms of talking with my global friends around the world I have my Skype phone with me. Regarding the wall posts and other stupid gadgets they have there, its just not for me wasting my time on little irritating games.
Hope I didnt offended anyone who use Facebook…
