Inactivemost of the time
when they click on your link, with your code
a cookie is dropped on their computer,so also when they click around, the player will be tagged to you
only need to worry about the time the cookie expires, wich is between 24 hours and a year…
a more difficult question is, what happens if they click on another affiliate-link next day?
cheers

Inactiveelgoog wrote:a more difficult question is, what happens if they click on another affiliate-link next day?Basically, in most affiliate programs the most recently visited affiliate site gets credit for the sale. (coined return days and is one of the things to consider when deciding to join an affiliate program).
For example, with the poster affiliate program I’m in the return days is 10 days. If the potential buyer purchases something within the 10 days and does not click on another affiliates link to do it, (they can even visit the poster site directly and the site would read the cookie and track it to me) I’d get the comission.
Cookie duration varies for program to program, for instance Brightshare has a 10 year cookie.

…. but that’s a great marketting line …
:happydancThe reality is that if you don’t manage to get the download during that initial visit then you’ll probably miss out on the sale …

poker1MemberDoesn’t it seem like it would be of great benifit for casino’s to get past the need for a DL for there casino software. I know it’s likely a space issue, (and certainly others with a keener knowledge of this should pipe in here) but the DL is a draw back IMO. Plenty of times I’ve visited sites and just found that it was to much work to get to a point just to see if I like there games etc. Plus I think something that used to nag in the back of my head was that if casino stayed on there servers it meant less instability issues on my end.
And best of all, I part more impulsively with my money when there is less work involved…..=more money going to casino’s =more money going to us.
Just my 2 bits.

InactiveErr. This already exists.
It’s called a “flash” based no-download casino …December 27, 2006 at 10:06 am #720056
poker1MemberI know they are already in use. I guess my question really is why more casino’s don’t utilize this. Is it a speed of connection issue?, tracking issue, space issue, Money issue, what ever it might be. Seems it’s just easier to gamble with no DL and maybe that could help them push revenue up.
or catch more fish when there ready to bite…not once they have time to think about the DL time & instilation, not to mention there are certainly folks out there that are leary of software dl’s onto there computer that they’ll be using there hard earned money to gamble with….
