vladcizsolMemberI doubt they will answer in a public area Pat so I will do some checking while Im in London at CAP Euro and get the straight scoop. For the time being I would direct my progressive fans to Rival or RTG casinos.

Inactivedo you think that any usa bank would cash 5 million dollar check or bank wire from microgaming ??? will bring to much attention to microgaming and usa players if a american wone it

InactiveMak’s got it.
If you leave the US market (which is officially what they’ve done) and then a US player hit’s the jackpot, the jackpot would reset, MGS would have say “someone won”, but they couldn’t say where they came from. People would grumble that “something fishy is going on”, “it’s a scam”, etc. PR they don’t want.
That’s the only logical reason i could think of at this point.

InactiveThanks AM, thats an explanation i did not think of, and if Micro confirms that, then i will be posting this at my sites to let my players nowhy, as of right now, it just seems totally unfair to them, and they would prefer to play else where, which hurts my mirco income. and your right about not getting any revenue from progressives BB1, but i beleive if a player is at a casino and playing progressives, they will also play other games to, so it does effect our commision if a progressive player is allowed or not.
Nice to see ya bb, ! lol

vladcizsolMemberMost casinos do pay affiliates on progressive play. The main difference is they dont DEDUCT progressive wins from our commissions (Thank God).

vladcizsolMemberOne thing I wanted to add. Casinos pay us on progressive play, BUT most POKER ROOMS do not pay on tournament play.

InactiveThank you for straightening me out on the progressive payout. So this makes me miss this even more now!
Professor thank you for looking into this, and hopefully getting micro to allow our old players be able to join in the jackpot fun once again. This would help us all retain are old players for they won’t feel like second class gamblers just because they are from the usa, as far as payment to usa players if they happen to win, i am Sure Microgaming can come up with some type of payment system, since they should gain income from these players also, it should be worth it to them.

Sad but true, when one of the room added tournament revenue, my income just doubled. Lots of players play in tourneys, and I don’t want to think about how much money we lose on tourneys…

GuestI agree Sipka, you’re so right.
also agree with you Pat, but I was just trying to find out if we did in fact get paid for the play.
Perhaps an answer to the problem would be to include in T&Cs that if you’re from the states you can only receive X amount of dollars per year. It might satisfy some of them.
as to the casino saying who won and from where … well I don’t know of any way to confirm whether that guy in Finland who won … actually exists but i take it on faith. While I’m sure there are some people who have confirmed this player exists … I doubt many players have means to confirm any more than do I, so I think just claiming the player was from North America and giving their first name along with a last name initial … suffices.
