InactiveWe need to be told this, exactly.
If this is going to result in everyone sending players to places and whether they can play is hit or miss, we will lose a ton of money.

Yep. It is a big waste of time for everyone involved if these things aren’t boldly stated someplace.
I can understand a casino not wanting to put it on their front door for fear of scaring unaffected players, but there’s really no reason why I should have someone downloading a casino they can’t play at.

InactiveWell, I am starting to get pissed off about it.
I have a retention site, my players come back over and over again. That will soon stop if they follow a link of mine and end up frustrated because I can’t provide accurate information.

InactiveI am pissed too, just got slammed by numerous complaints from players from Wagershare, they have closed all accounts in Washington State as well!! Not only are they doing this but they sent out a promo email for a match deposit and players that took part now have closed accounts with money still in them!
Thanks for the warning Wagershare, you were getting a lot of exposure from us, this is going to change as of today!

Inactiveit seems palace group casino now reopened accounts from Michigan.. They shouldn’t make it so difficult..
What should I say, when you play at this casino you might be at risk that your account will be closed for a few days and if you’re lucky it will be reopened..

InactiveI guess everyone is confused here, maybe we need to wait a few days to let things settle.

InactiveHi All
We apologise for any inconvenience caused in relation to these locked accounts. A script was written that would lock accounts and prohibit registration from certain states in America. This script was created because of advice from our legal team, informing us that it may be necessary to block access to these players in the near future.
This script was run in error late last night and the accounts were reopened first thing this morning (with the exception of Louisiana whilst we await more information on the Peter Dicks situation).
We realise how important it is to keep the lines of communication open in situations like this, and it was always our intention to keep you well informed of any decisions to block player access, before putting anything into action. Unfortunately the erroneous running of the script has meant we have had to move the temporary blocking of Louisiana forward.
We will be in constant contact with our legal team over the next few weeks and we’ll let you know of any updates in regards to restricting player access.
Once again, please accept our apologies.
Best regards,
Tim Whyles

I think most of us will be very understanding of that.

InactiveIf this continues affiliates will need to implement geotargeting to keep track of the complexity. For most affiliates that´s not really a feasible solution.

InactiveI don’t think most online casinos will survive without the USA revenue.
“US players account for over 80% of the casino’s players The balance are mainly Canadians and Britons. What’s even more impressive is that American players are generating over 90% of the profits.”

InactiveMost people find it enough of a hassle to geotarget to different countries and that can be done with the free maxmind world database. To geotarget at the state level you would need the city database. Geotargeting can be implemented with any script language that can query a mysql database (Perl, PHP, Java, Ruby, Python to name but a few).
It´s not at all impossible but a major hassle nonetheless.
