“The new law passed because members of the pro-family movement — including a great many Southern Baptists — brought the issue to the attention of both Democrats and Republicans. “

No wonder I am an atheist. Religion fucks up everything.

What a very strange man indeed. Im sure poker players and casino players up and down America will be eager to thank him for saving mankind and sales of the bible and visitors to churches will increase dramatically now these players have extra time on their hands.

Im amazed people voted for him to represent them – But they did and look what happened.

But give it time and im sure as usually happens with religious extremists he will be exposed as having had sex with a donkey or such like.

    Let’s give this a little perspective…..

When he says: ‘The new law passed because members of the pro-family movement — including a great many Southern Baptists — brought the issue to the attention of both Democrats and Republicans.’

What he is thinking is: ‘Well, I know the Southern Baptists haven’t really contacted me recently about gambling, however, elections are coming up. With this whole war-thing not going so well, we need the religion faction as well as the family values faction on our side again – or we (Republicans) lose lots of elections. Besides – MGM & Harrahs gave me a boatload of money to come up with excuses!’

    That’s what I think.

That is why I (and everyone else) should be so fucking angry about this idiot! If he truly thought gambling was ‘immoral’ do you think he would accept campaign ‘contributions’ from one of the largest gaming companies in the US???

He is bought and paid for – basically a liar who is attempting to defraud the US people (most of all the Southern Baptists whom he claims to represent).

    What a fucking moron.

    Sorry for the language :)

Now there we have a real scandal on our hands. Maybe some PR work should be done to publizise Frists alliance with the land based gambling industry.

ok this opensecrets site is great. I just looked up Goodlatte he seems to be clean. Let´s dig deeper and x-ray the supporters of this bill.

    http://www.gambling911.com/Online-Gambling-Banned-071206.html

    From that article:

Democrat Barney Frank of Massachusetts said he thought the bill was “outrageous.”

I think people like this Frank guy are desperate to be in the spotlight and if we gave him Frists link to Harrah´s he may be willing to talk about it. There will be more like him. If we reread the articles on the bill we can find how they are and contact them.

Also here you can search who lobbied the port security bill by its bill number. Don´t know the number so if someone has it go ahead and see what comes up. I´m gonna search it right now.

The bill’s sponsor, Sen. Jon Kyl, specifically left out language that would have clarified the Wire Act — language that has tripped up previous efforts in years past to pass an online gambling ban, That move allowed the bill to move forward in its present state. appease the casino industry and other groups who want to leave open the possibility that online gambling will be legalized in the future.

“Kyl has said he’s not going to decide what’s legal or illegal. He’s going to let the courts decide that,” American Gaming Association Chief Executive Frank Fahrenkopf said

It just backs up what I said in another post:

Republicans are control freaks that want to dictate policy based on religious beliefs.
