i’m in amsterdam for the night before i fly back home. I was aware of the new smoking laws that banned smoking in public buildings. According to the folks at the Hilton here, the law only allows hotels to offer no more than 4% of their rooms as “smoking” allowed. This sucks, i have to go down stairs everytime i want to smoke. That sure killed my idea of sitting around in my room and doing some work later tonight.

be strong…and quit!
i feel your pain. last time i was flying to oz from europe, i chose to fly through frankfurt particularly because i knew that the airport had smoking areas. guess my surprise when i arrive there and the rules have changed. no smoking anywhere in the airport. so i got pissed in 4 hrs in the airport and ended up smoking in the bathroom

on arrival here though, i did quit. was a heavy duty smoker too…crazy stuff

InactiveAmcam – Is it true that they have allowed smoking to continue in the cafes but only with pure weed and no tobacco – Surely this is just a made up rumour……..

InactiveFred,
didn’t your room have a window???September 29, 2008 at 8:18 pm #780213Anonymous
InactiveIt has a window, but i didn’t want to use the chair to open it. yet
You can still smoke cigarettes and put in your J
why anyone with any amount of class or taste {come on fellow Ams, Cans and support me on this one} want to ruin a joint by burning it in tobacco?!!! :smoker:
If i gave up smoking, i wouldn’t come back to the netherland except to see friends, art and tulips. I love the people and window shopping, but i’d rather have the CAP drink german beerfest, if i’m flying 8 hours to party, without any herbal supplements.
Hey Arjun(is that spelled right?)
Is your vapour smoking device covered by the law? I think the waitress took that answer with the empty beers the other day.September 29, 2008 at 10:19 pm #780234Anonymous
Inactiveit”s Arjan
The waitress took all answers on any laws the other night
and left me behind with only one thing to say:
“I have the right to remain in silence”[edit to add-1]
