    Ditto that, Doyle.

yes, I saw it and I emailed cavuto and told him to get the Judge (Napalitano) on. The judge is a big believer in constitutional rights. A few more emails won’t hurt.

Just Don’t Vote Republican In November

    Don’t you get it? Yet?

The Republicans are taking away your income from you and your families.

LagunaCat – I think it was on Fox News not CNN, although hopefully he’ll be on CNN too.

The national news converage of this has been horrible.

Someone please post the video here if they find it on YouTube or iFilm. I tried but can’t find it right now.

Sometimes you just have to send a message. In 1994, the Democrats deserved to be turned out of office and in 2006 it is the Republican’s turn. They have become everything that they hated 12 years ago.

    Nationbuilding
    Big Deficits/Spending
    Corruption
    Entrenched Power
    Big Government
    Pork Barrel Spending

Pissing off poker players just might be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

I was glad when the Republicans took power 12 years ago and now, 12 years later, I can’t wait to see them go.

I just caught annie duke on some show, but I walked in the final seconds of her talking. She was saying all the companies that have been run out were 100% legit etc. Anyone have these on video?

I feel like I’m coming in to crap on alot of threads recently. I don’t mean to. I just see a huge problem when people decide to vote for one party or another without paying attention to the underlying issue.

The underlying issue being, that none of these people are like you, or care to hear what you have to say. When this system was set up, your representatives cared about what their individaul constituents thought and at least listened to them. That just isn’t there anymore. None of them are representative. None of them read anything you write to them. They’re all elite, regardless of what they tell you. If you’re elite, you’re having dinner with them. Otherwise, you’re out of luck.

Do you think this is strange?

    – Frist taking money from gambling interests?
    – Effects on those interests?

It isn’t even a little strange. If people in congress aren’t making money other than their salaries, then they are just waiting until they have enough clout to do so. You can follow all sorts of legislation and come to the same conclusion. That’s just how the system works at the present moment. Yeah, it’s slimy, but it’s hardly limited to this particular issue.

They do care about re-election, but I can tell you… anything that happens in November will NOT be attributed to anything online gambling related. What will the media cover? They will cover war, economy, terrorism, security, and whatever else the the elite decide to talk about or hammer on. It won’t be online gambling.

The only way to change that is to tell anyone you talk to that you are voting based on that one issue. Convince them that you know many people who are voting based on that one issue.

Otherwise, none of them really care what you think, and it’s about time that you get used to it.

I think this particular issue will be seriously undervalued and lost in the mix of a bunch of other things.

You are correct, the media wont be talking about gaming as one of the big issues. You are also correct that we need to tell anyone and everyone we know about this issue.

It is up to the thousands of affiliates to get the word out to the players in mass. If we can keep them informed, we won’t need the media to do it for us. In the close races in certain states; a mass of gambler votes can make a big difference; that is if they are really upset enough to vote against those who are for the ban; I think they are.

Course as the saying goes meet the new boss same as the old boss; who ever comes in will be in that elite class; but if we can get the idiots out who *ucked us; at least we can feel a bit of satisfaction from the *ucking.

I think that any effect will be lost in the myriad of legislative screwups and scandals by this Congress. I don’t disagree with you (oneguy), although some disaffected poker players could play a role if there are some close races on election night. (Of course the poker players will not get any credit for it.)

I think you (oneguy) are also right when you say that the politicians don’t care about anything other than their reelection.

To be honest, I don’t care if my vote is misinterpreted. Pick an issue, I disagree with just about everything the Rs are doing now. They are the party of big spending, deficits, pork barrel spending, and corruption… the same crap they ran against in 1994 when they took control.

Regardless of what issue gets the credit for any change in power, I just hope it happens. Any change of direction would be good IMO.

Also, I don’t really care who or what gets the credit for any defeat of Kyl or Leach. I just want them to lose.

I think they can/will play a role. I bet poker players are the “don’t vote much” crowd. They probably don’t like being told what to do in their own home, and a bunch of them might vote on that one issue.

If it’s lost in all of the other noise, then that sentiment will be attributed to other things. No one will notice, and thus there will be no pressure for representatives to change anything. There’s a lot of noise out there that is more exciting. Nobody will be pointing fingers at incumbents regarding the issue.

Sad, that it’s a fundamental issue about what people do in their own homes with their own money. Are people citizens or subjects? I was always taught that people were citizens, but everything I study tells me they are subjects.

I agree with what you said. This election is more a spite thing for me; I am not under any illusion that my voting will do anything to change this law.

They (the Congressmen) took something that I hold valuable away (my earnings) and now I hope to do my part to take something they hold valuable away (their seats).

Well, I must say that CNN International has made a pretty big deal of what they consistently refer to as the “online gambling bill” – no talk of port security. They´ve been talking about the demise of UK companies and that it promotes rogue operators. There will be a special one hour feature on the effect of the bill one Tuesday at 00.00 GMT (I think).
