No in all likelihood your analysis is not right. First of all DOS is hacking 1.0 . Any hacker with half a brain would use a distributed denial of service attack via a botnet in which case you would probably never get to the bottom of who is behind this. From your logs I can only glean that Europartners seem to have visited your site quite frequently.

What exactly is it that denies your service? You should be seeing something in the logs tying up your server’s resources?

yes I have had DDOS attacks in the past where hackers sent me hits from hundreds of different IPs located around the world

this time it is a single IP that sends me about 15.000-20.000 hits a day….in the first screenshot you can see that the “attack” started on Oct 27th and ended on Oct 28th

in these two days I had problems with the website and google removed it from the SERPs

however this isn’t the first time that I received a lot of hits from israelian IPs linked to The Nation Trafic and each time the website slows down and drops in the google rankings

I know the normal route for hackers is to go with DDOSes, but this “little DOS” gives me serious problems and I don’t understand why people from Europartners are trying to views 17.000 files on my website

Could just be some bot that’s sent out to monitor links or something, and it’s got it self stuck in a loop somewhere (is it a wordpress site per chance?) Simplest solution is just to block the IP in your htaccess. The amount of file requests and bandwidth is pretty low really, far below DDOS standards and not likely to have affected your rankings.
