InactiveYou are right. Common knowledge says that Google treats both almost similarly.
But under ideal cirsumstances if both had almost same content and same quality/quantity of links, onlineblackjack.com would rank higher than online-blackjack.com

InactiveI used to go after domains with dashes in them, but now.. no. I don’t see the point, unless its a el premo keyword. I sorta see it the same as, whats the diff between one dash, and 2 dashes.
I tried targeting for the keywords with dashes in them, while it has little success, it wasn’t enough to justify going after them.
eg
term1-term2
term1–term2January 11, 2011 at 1:45 pm #814109
cashforaccountMemberThanks for the replies
It is stupid how much credit a domain can get with the KWs in the domain name even with dashes. Obv some people go for these to rank higher to start with. Wouldn’t it be better to build up a brand name and have a long term solution?

burundiMemberGood question, Id be more interested to know though, how google treats the double hyphen..
Like online–casino.com (one of mine) as an example.. with the two hyphens, does it delimit the second word or does it still count as “online casino”…

I agree with you. I’d rather a domain name which can be become a portal, people will remember, and can type in.
