I ALWAYS seperate hosting and domain regsitration. I have heard of a few horror stories where a host refuses to transfer domains if you wish to cancel hosting with them. They can REALLY make life difficult. If you have your domain registered elsewhere you can repoint it to any host you want and you are in control of your domain. I HIGHLY recommend you always do that.

I aslo prefer to buy a domain in one company, but a hosting in another company, because I always may change its location as I did in November due to the UIGEA.
