I found this tag on one of my reciprical link partners pages. Is this just a clever way to get a one way link on his part.

The above code is supposed to stop the page from being indexed in the serps (“noindex”), and it is also supposed to stop the spiders from following any links on the page (“nofollow”).

This is the link to the page, he does it in a way I dont quite understand. He has some kind of in and out deal going. I just dont know enough about coding and all that. I know this site is suppossedly well respected so I would be surprised if this was a trick, however it doesnt make sense to me why I see the noindex tag.

Hmm, I’m not sure what that tag does. It looks like the links aren’t between the tags though, which is probably a good thing.

i.e.:

formatting and javascript code here

link partners here

more formatting and javascript code

So… while I don’t know exactly what the tag does, it looks like your links wouldn’t be negatively affected by this since the links aren’t enclosed by the tags.
