I think most of the people know that its advertisement, I use only text links and links in images(screenshots of the sites) for my new site. I will notify you how its going after month or so, but I think the conversions will be better than if you put flashy banner.
I think it is a matter of country you advertise to and type of product. Banners with bonuses on tend to be quite appealing. I find the UK market is particularly skeptical of banners and are less likely to click on them, but some people still do.
Test it and report your findings, you will probably get some love from the community. :inlove:

Yes, but what is appealing is the bonus itself, if the information for the bonus is presented juicy, people will still click on the text link or use the bonus code. Sometimes people that see banners just go away, but for example if you write review and just place a link like “Click here to visit ….” it wont look so much like advertisement.
Of course thats only my thoughts on that

hendrikMemberThats the problem, they are just your thoughts and my thoughts… we are not the paying public.
The only way you will know for sure is by testing – build some landing pages and try it out. Then come tell us or make yourself some money and sell the results in an ebook :wink-wink

casinobonuzMemberI am already testing it on my new site, It will take months of course. Here is example of what I mean. This article is only text, I don’t know if I wrote it interesting.. Im not good at writing. Also the reviews are only made with screenshots and text links.
Take a look and tell me what you think

MaxActionMemberBanners, text links and all of the marketing tools you can use are good if you use them in the right way, banners are a good way to take the visitors attention while they are reading an article or review on your sites. Using too many banners will make your site load slow and might saturate the visitors view making them leave your site.
A good example of a nice way to use banners is the header on this forum, they present us a 728 x 90 banner that it won’t interfere our reading and still send us the message they want us to receive.
Bottom line banners are an excellent tool if you use them right.

http://www.gamblingsafe.net/sports-betting-promotions/93-win-audi-r8.htmlHonest opinion. Bland, short and unlikely to convert any players. I am no expert on conversions, but there is no incentive, other than the fairly dull article itself.
On the positive side of things I think this is the right way to go and with a bit of visual extras and some more call-to-actions it could be good.
Good luck.

MishaMemberIn my opinion a lot of people do not encourage use of banners. However that does not mean they cannot generate traffic. If a strikingly creative banner is placed on related content/related to page theme it will definitly generate clicks.
Then of course it needs to take the visitor to high value content page.July 13, 2009 at 4:48 pm #802024

casinobonuzMemberWell, for now, 2 months after the launch of the site I have good results, I have over 20 signups that deposited and that is a new site, definately like how the site looks without banners, its very clean and it doesnt look like advertisement, I used screenshots and autolinks instead of banners and the result is good.

voodoomanMemberToo many banners are yuck and give the impression that the site is trying to fill space. If used wisely I feel they can be informative.
I will click on a banner if catches my attention and curiosity.
It’s a bit like telemarketing, we all hate those calls, but they must be achieving some success otherwise they couldn’t afford to pay the telephone bill.
