InactiveThere is absolutly nothing to stop them from not paying a player, or you and me. It’s an unregulated business – welcome to the wild wild west of online gambling

EXEPT that it would be a very bad business decition – they have the house advantage so why not just make the customer happy and keep getting a share?
Bad news travel fast on the internet.

Yea the did, but Microgaming needs to clean it up and see that we all get paid and does not look good for Microgaming ALLOWING this to happen.

InactiveI’m not sure where is the line between the operators and Microgaming but I’m sure there are guidelines and such.
Furthermore, this industry is so complicated since the US ban that makes me tired just thinking about it.
It is too bad that the US Gov likes porn. They could go after the adult industry for a while and live us alone for few years.

InactiveThis is a business that is 100% based on trust, the terms are all geared toward the casino and generally in a jurisdiction that is difficult or not worth litigating in. Any vendor, any brand, any affiliate program can break the trust at anytime.
Am I concerned? no.
I’ve happily worked with these programs since 2003:
Party Partners, Fortune Lounge, Rewardsaffiliates, Brightshare, Europartners, AffiliatedWeb, never had an issue. i’ve only needed to dump 2 brands for screwing players(none since 2004) and GFed for their “hosts file incident” a few years back.January 24, 2009 at 11:40 pm #793693Anonymous
InactiveI TRUST Microgaming to produce good reliable gaming software that does what it says on the tin and is not rigged or scamable in any way. That’s their business.
I BELIEVE that Microgaming do their best to select licensees that have the acumen, and funding to make a success of the online gambling business when they run their software. I think that of all platforms they’ve done the best in maintaining standards.
But it is not Microgaming’s business to underwrite the successful operation of each licensee. That is up to the licensee. The financial status of each licensee is for good affiliates to investigate and determine before running off to their websites to promote a program.Too many affiliates seem to lack basic business acumen – and do not seem to understand that even in a regulated industry business failures happen all the time – and when that happens outstanding affiliate and player accounts stand in line as creditors and probably will not be paid out.
:sarcasm:So in answer to the question :
Yes I trust Microgaming.
But I evaluate EACH And EVERY licensee of ALL software vendors before ever agreeing to work with them. There are many undercapitalised players who are not “worth a punt” and should not be promoted.

InactiveWow, so many opinions, and everyone seems to be on the same page. Trust the software company, but do your home work on the casinos using it? is this about right?
if so, thanks for the info, and the busy lesson gooner, and i will take this to heart when thinking about promoting anything new coming our way.

InactiveYou’re most welcome Triple777
:hattip:I didn’t mean to be too preachy – but running with start-ups and new outfits is a risk filled business and sometimes I wonder how many affiliates give much thought to that when directing players to gambling sites with 1,3,6 months experience with their sugar-coated reviews.
Longevity and security should be the key in these troubled times – admittedly that’s harder for affiliates who are trying to locate programs that are US facing now that many of the “best of breed” programs have left … but we’ve gotta try.
So the question was a fair one – but just remember the software provider cannot be financially responsible for a licensee …
