I resubmitted my application today after making some edits suggested by Classics and after spending a month or so reading every post on http://www.resource-zone.com.
Wish me luck. I’ll keep you up to date.
April 10, 2004 at 11:40 pm #647822AnonymousInactiveI received email notification today that I’ve been accepted as a DMOZ editor.
April 11, 2004 at 12:14 am #647826AnonymousInactiveWow!
For what category?

I haven’t really read through my welcome email or much else yet. I’m pretty excited about it. Took me three applications, but I made it.
I’m pretty excited about it. I’ve learned more about what DMOZ does and how and why it does it at http://www.resource-zone.com. I think it’s going to be a fun experience.
April 11, 2004 at 12:53 am #647834AnonymousInactiveWell well well! I will have to submit my role playing games page.
April 11, 2004 at 1:52 am #647838AnonymousInactiveCongratulations Randy. Perseverence does pay off (usually).

trust me on this one.
April 11, 2004 at 3:23 am #647844AnonymousGuestCongratulations, Randy.
That’s very admirable how you kept at it and succeeded.
April 11, 2004 at 3:29 am #647847AnonymousInactiveI would also let some managers know As well as some of the larger portal owners.

I think it’s going to be a fun experience. At the least, it will be an interesting experience for you. Quite an odd self-congratulatory subculture they have there.
They have more solidarity than the various gambling message boards on the self-congratulatory front. Mostly because of oblivious followers, as far as I can tell.
Maybe it’s a little different these days.
April 11, 2004 at 7:27 am #647849AnonymousGuestHey its OneGuy!

April 15, 2004 at 4:22 am #648014AnonymousGuestI’d be curious to know how much of your time this takes up, if you don’t mind my asking?
… that’s when you know of course.
April 15, 2004 at 1:00 pm #648023AnonymousInactiveI’ve spent two or three hours on it so far.
It’s a volunteer thing, and as near as I can tell, there’s not a minimum time commitment. You can edit as much or as little as you want to. I think if you don’t log in for a certain period of time, your editor profile is disabled, but you can apply for reinstatement.
