A tool that I love for project management is Basecamp. Helps keep all messages about a project organized, plus you load any associated files into the system, too.

The other great thing… you can loop in all of your team members on the happenings of a project separately from any outside consultants you may be working with (developers, designers, SEOs, etc.)

Awesome tool- highly recommend to anyone. (And super easy to use!)

I am particularly after something which will give me an overview “website roadmap development” thing, where I can lay down the evolutionary steps of my website to get it to its “final” completed stage.

Then I would like to road map each evolutionary step to a greater detail, having relationship steps with outside systems, and modules of the website.

That way I can print it out, and plaster it to my whiteboards and have something sitting infront of me.

BaseCamp I use.. its ok, but its not going to give me my road-maps, and visualization, and dependencies stuff.

I wasn’t sure if omnigraffe was what I wanted, I checked it out.. and I have to say.. its 50% of what I need.

I started thinking more on gant / pert charts.. did a bit of googling and ended up with Visio from Microsoft.

I’ll need to find something equally opensource, but I think a combination of something gant like omnigaffle and MS Visio is what is going to do the trick for me.
