Anyone caught burning our flag in our own country should be detained until the next boat leaves for Iraq .. and then BE ON IT!

You don’t have to agree with everything your country does.

But, you DO need to have respect for your country and for your flag.

If you find it too difficult to do that, then you no longer belong in this country.

Get the F*** out .. Go live in some 3rd world country and burn their flag!

    Hmmm…
Well I fought for this country.

I fought so people in America could be FREE to express themselves as they see fit, not as you or someone else sees fit.

The flag is nothing but a symbol, a symbol of a FREE country.

I am free to believe what I want and your free to believe what you want… and no one has to go anywhere… ain’t it GREAT!

Agreed, its nothing but a symbol, it doesnt affect me at all if some idiot wishes to burn it, thats his/her free will to choose.

Hmmmm. Aren’t there much more important issues that you should consider when voting, than something that is symbolic at best and superficial?

You need to vote to restore and preserve your freedom before you vote to stop people from burning a symbol which represents freedom…

When you have medical coverage for all, when the stopper is put on your eroding ‘freedoms’ and so on, THEN it’s time to fine tune a perfect world by worrying about which officials would put people in jail for fabric burning.

Looks like the “D’s” in the list have other priorities than making free expression illegal in a free country.

I think only a totatitarian regime would arrest someone for burning a flag. It’s a symbol, and while it may mean something good for a lot of people, for others it signifies something repulsive. Everyone should have the freedom to burn whatever they own as long as it is done safely and it is thier own private property.

Funny you should say that it is OK for us to burn the US flag. It’s too bad that we are one of the few that allow it! Too much in the name of freedom can get you killed?
