Publishing private adresses is a no-no, regardless of whether it can be found via research or not.

Unfortunately you can’t trust everyone, online or off. There is no telling who will be looking at a video and get a bee under his bonnet and go after someone’s family.

If someone is hell bent on going after someone, they will do so anyway. But shoving a private address in front of people’s eyes may give someone ideas who would otherwise not have thought of it.

APCW saw this too and removed the address immediately.

Do not shoot the messenger :hattip:

Thank you for your email about this Friday’s video, once we realized it was a home address and not a business address we took action. Here is a post from Michael:

I’d just like to be clear about what we did and what we are doing with today’s video.

First of all, the information that was published in the You Tube video was indeed just screen captures from the public information state websites show for Affiliate Media and Effective Media. What I now understand is that these public records list their home addresses rather than their business address.

I’d like to be clear that was not obvious to us. I have said there is a clear relationship between Lou and Warren and Cardspike, and there has been a demand that I provide documentation to justify the statements I have made by many people, including GamTrak who has posted in this thread. And all we were trying to do is to examine public records that were helpful in terms of our demonstrating some of the information that is important in terms of establishing that relationship.

Also, to us the address listed for Lou looked to be a business address. Our primary focus was on Effective Media Group, and we knew from separate searches that Effective Media Group owned the property at that address.

Now Lou or Warren could have called me right away about the issue – they have my number and we have called and spoken to each other from time to time. But instead they had their attorney call random numbers around our office, so it took hours for me to get the message.

When I did get the message I consulted our technical staff and determined what was involved in taking down the video, and we had the video removed within about fifteen minutes after I found out about the situation.

I have consulted with our attorney about the matter, and determined that there was no legal reason we needed to take it down. But I agree with everyone that publishing home addresses is not cool, and not what I want us to be doing. In the consultation with Lou’s attorney he stated to me that he did not realize the information was so publicly available the way they had filed their business records, and that thought it should have been done differently. I agree with him.

At the present time we are in the midst of editing the video so that the addresses are obscured. We will repost the video once that work is completed. The good news is that there were not that many views of the video at the time it was taken down. We had not yet gone through our normal promotion process for the video so not many people had seen it yet.

Since I am banned from making any posts at CAP, I would appreciate it if someone who is not banned would post a comment with a link back to this post in the CAP forum thread where I have been told J.Todd and I am being accused of stalking the professor. That way folks there can see a more complete explaination of what transpired.

    Thank you,

    Michael

I don’t mean it to be rude at all – but just try to consider that maybe you should be up in arms for your fellow affiliates and PLAYERS who are mislead to believe the “certification” this company offers is actually something with integrity behind it, and not just a paid advertisement.

Obviously you don’t have a clue what I”m about because I’m an affiliate first and foremost above all! I realize the value of my players and customer service.

I support myself and no one has control over what I do and I’m not one to suck up because it’s popular nor run from controversy.

I have a forum with over 9,000 members and you even ask my staff just how far I will go for my players even if it means getting on them AND I have not had any complaint that was not researched or resolved so DON’T ASSUME you know everything just because you read it.

Until I see some proof, I’m done with this mess! :hattip:

reading the last page and this one … I have to admit I would not have been a responsible journalist if it meant checking every address to see if someone lived there.

having said that: i don’t think its reasonable to expect that be done.

If I read on a public paper that the person in question had entered as being their business address … that would have been far good enough for me and I still feel that way simply because can you imagine having to check every address to see if its a business or home?

On the whole … ya this was in extreme bad taste and judgment and they’re really luck Lou has not chosen to up the ante. I applaud you for that Sir.

Because if the past is a precedent, this company will ban and censor anyone searching for the truth. What’s more Lou will go back and edit your posts to what he wants them to say, and even change your titles and avatars to something derogatory.

It’s not a single instance, he did it to literally dozens of respected affiliates at PAP – pure childeshness.

I can back this up, I saw it with my own eyes on numerous occasions. I don’t see why some of you are trying to help them sweep everything under the rug, CAP management has done a number of unethical things in the last few months, people should be held accountable for their actions.

    CAP/Effective Media/Card Spike clarification

Affiliate Media Inc., a Nevada Corporation with Offices in Irvine CA., and it’s shareholders are the owner /operators of the following web properties and products:

    1. CasinoAffilitiatePrograms.com , Pokeraffiliateprograms.com, AffiliatePrograms.com – These are online communities designed to service the affiliate sector of their respective marketing niches.

2.AffiliateRevenue.com – Retail advertising agency with a primary focus on consumer finance and B to B sales.

    3.Joint Ventures
    A. CAP Magazine with Lyceum media (UK).
    B. CAP Euro Events with iGaming Business (UK].
    C. AffiliateSpeedPay.com (ASP) exclusive marketing agent and creative direction consulting.

Note: Affiliate Media Inc. has no ownership directly or indirectly of Affiliate Speedpay.com (ASP) or the EU Licensed bank which maintains the affiliate accounts. We have no direct or indirect access to banking/affiliate data or users. We did help author the product to serve as a stable affiliate payment solution after the Neteller fund seizures which affected many of us in the industry.

    Clarifications:

    1. Affiliate Media Inc. has no direct or indirect ownership whatsoever in CardSpike.com. CardSpike management did pay a full certification fee for exposure on CasinoAffiliatePrograms.com (CAP) and a full All In Partner fee for exposure on PokerAffiliatePrograms.com (PAP). That is the full and total extent of the relationship between the two parties.

    Effective Media Group
Effective Media Group (EMG) is a Florida Corporation with offices in Orlando, FL. It was established by a separate set of share holders then AMI with the express intent of offering consulting services to online merchants, in ALL sectors. Our initial focus was to assist investors and operators of online gaming properties. We launched this business to satisfy the continuous requests from new and existing gaming operators for our consulting assistance and guidance with their affiliate marketing and general online marketing initiatives. In 2009, EMG will be branching out into other markets such as finance and travel to further satisfy clients without the necessary expertise to execute efficient online strategies. Both Lou and Warren maintain individual shares in EMG along with other shareholders.

    Clarifications:
    1. Affiliate Media Inc. has no shares or monetary influence in this new company whatsoever. It is wholly separate company with a different set of business goals and clients.

    2. Effective Media Group, its officers, staff and investors have no direct or indirect ownership in CardSpike.com. EMG operated as performance based consultant ONLY for an offshore investor.

EMG was established as a consulting service, offering scalable solutions for all online marketing niches. Turnkey fully managed solutions are available or they can provide training and support for new/existing clients. We encourage you to contact the EMG corporate offices for more information on (407) 781-1492.

    Additional Notes:
CAP and PAP have dropped certification, recommendation and support of the CardSpike.com product. It’s our understanding that Effective Media has not been paid in full for their management services either and are pursing that vigorously with CardSpike.com.
