    Hi all,
this is my first post and I would like to tell you a little story.

One day 6 to 9 months ago, I received a phone call from a person saying the she was my rep at Cpays.
She asked me why I wasn’t promoting them and I answered that a competitor of mine had a huge number of members already ( I am in Portugal ) and I didn’t believe I could really get that manny members to justify my trouble.

As a reply I got what I thought to be a good deal for CDPoker: $100 CPA.
Conditions I asked:$50 in deposits and 100 CDpoints.
(To be honest I have to say that I am not sure about the number of CDPoints, but it was low).

So I started to promote CDPoker, with banners and freerolls.

    Like I expected I didn’t do too good… I must have got 5 to 10 players.

Whenever I checked my stats the clicks and downloads were there but the revenue was always set to ZERO.

Ok. I thought maybe they didn’t deposit, or maybe they deposited less then $50.
I asked my rep at Cpays and the answer that I got was that the players that deposited lost fast… I understood this as not making enough points.

But one day I talked to one of my players and to my surprise he had make over $500 in deposits and even more cash outs. He was playing everyday for the past 3 months…:whoa:  :whoa:

When I asked my new rep about this, this was the answer.

The only reason that I didn’t get the CPA from that player ( or any ) was because HIS FIRST DEPOSIT was less then $50.

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    Fell free to comment…
Maybe I am seeing this from a wrong perspective

CPA is a bad deal for affiliates most of the time.

This is a typical example of it. You lost a nice player because of CPA rules. On rev share you would have done well with him.

Not sure about poker, but in casinos many times a player will deposit like $20 the first time just to get a feel for things. Could be a super player after that, but on CPA you will never know.

If you got to do CPA, go for a staggered model, x$ the first deposit and x amount the second one….

CPA deals are not good for some programs rev share is the better model. More importantly Cpays in itself has questionable ethical standards of a wild beast. The program may work fine for some. Not sure what criteria cpays uses on who to jerk around or not, but they do screw people over such as myself.

Whether or not you choose to support them is a personal choice. From my own experience I would not. Perhaps do a search for Cpays on CAP to help you make up your mind.

If you´re looking for excellent Playrech programs then I would give Blasters and Gaming Partners a try. Casino Partners is also regarded as fair although they had a bit of a spamming issue.

I don’t know 24horas. my websites are gone in time being due to U.S legislation passing but I’m still making revenue with C-pays every month. You might want to contact other affiliate manager from there.

    cheers :hattip:

Good in the short run bad in the long run. Cpays only requires a handful of affiliates to make them profitable.

Dom, poker, at least for me is much the same. I get at least 10 initial deposits under $50. for every one I get $50. or more. In one poker program so far this month I have 6 first time deposits totalling a grand total of $117.00 Yet my total deposits in the same period is $2,600. Yeah probably most of that comes from existing players but most of them all started the same way too.

I agree that it’s players waiting to check out the software, talk with other players during games about the sites ethics, cash out speed, probs etc before they are fully ready to commit. You can’t learn all those things from playing a free version at the site.

Myself, I only go rev share. But I would have thought that a decent CPA program would have paid the affiliates once the player made enough deposits to total the requirement whether it was the initial deposit or took 5 deposits to get there.

    My point exactlly…

Just to add that my former affiliate manager called me. Just a couple of hours after I placed the post, to know what they could do in order to solve the problem.

I explain her that I would remove the post and be very happy to continue to work with them IF they switch me to revenue share AND give me the revenue from day 1. They agree and they would change my stats.

I can only say good things from my former affiliate manager ( Ricki ) but the truth is that my stats aren’t changed.

    These are my thoughts…
They didn’t cheat me… But I feel cheated because some rules are strange ( to say the least ).
I will continue to wait for them to live up to the 2nd deal… But I am loosing hope.
