InactiveIf you are using copy scape or simillar and it shows you sites “stealing” those are not necessaraly copying even if there is a full sentence.
It is possible but in todays flooded gambling content online repetition is a result. ex. how many ways can one explain the rules of a game in a short paragraph? how many ways is it possible to explain a specific rule like “field bets” in craps?
I believe it has to be like a paragraph or whole review or multiple pages copied for a program to take hard action against affiliate.

InactiveMerlin, there is a forum area especially for this sort of thing. I have been using it a LOT lately (unfortunately).

Some people do write content in unique ways that are easily identified – even one short phrase is enough in my opinion. Having been on the receiving end many times, I can assure you that I don’t tolerate the existence of any copy of mine on any site without my permission.

What methods are available for preventing and/or correcting content theft?

Inactivei see were you are coming from and i would not like it either…
but….
a short phrase is in my opinion not enough to close accounts.
Depends on the phrase… if i write and you copy
“playing craps is very popular at online casinos. Here are a few casinos”
I do not see it as a big deal. Depends on the phrase is all i am saying.

With all due respect. The difference between accidental similarity and a complete stolen page is not hard to spot.
We have ways of writing things like casino reviews that they will ALWAYS be unique when published.
There are a lot of poeple stealing content. We know. We waste a lot of time chasing the bastards.

Inactiveok, i knew i was looking too much into this :p
“I have found more content thieves, they have taken bits and pieces of so
many of our reviews.”You definetly have a valid strong point about content theft.

gbpMemberWe have had issues from the site in question in the past. They were rewarding players for spamming other forums. They received points for the amount of litter they could spread around the web. There was also quite a bit of PM recruiting going on. ahh lazy promotions…..
Kinda fired me up again to see the name.
Just FYI.April 17, 2008 at 7:10 am #765903Anonymous
InactiveI would not have posted here unless the thieves had stolen a significant amount of our content. And yes its very easy to identify.
I also post here because I can gaurantee if they have stolen whole reviews from us, their other reviews would have been stolen from other good webmasters at CAP also
I have still not heard a peep from the people who have taken our content, surprise …. not
cheers
