“Gambling is to liberals as pornography is to conservatives,” Frank said.

“I really believe that to many of my liberal friends … gambling is kind of associated with tawdriness and the worst aspects of commercialism, has no redeeming social value and therefore, we ought to ban it,” he said. “And that’s really all there is to this.”

    Oh, yes.

Spending the evening watching people eat slime and worms and lie in snake pits and have their heads covered with scorpions is a lot more socially redeeming, not to mention schooling the mind!

I also agree with that assessment – I also dont think anything will get passed this session. However with all the other scare tactics being employed were still sure to see less than desirable results.

You know that several of the programs are going to use these roadblocks as an excuse and a means for shaving profits. “Your stats arent that good because _____” Fill in the blank with any of the current news headlines.
