You could pretty easily use a cookie or query string to save the visitor’s home destination. You could even use that variable to determine a different logo for each forum.
In terms of combining the databases though, that’s a bit of a programming nightmare.
Depending on how you are going to set this up and what forum software you will be using you can make this work
One easy solution is to have one forum setup and then have 3 different skins matching your 3 websites. You can then assign different usergroups to different forums sections, or just assign the skins to certain sections making the forum pretty much 3 entities in one.
