InactiveYes, indeed I agree – that was a horrifying story. I recall immediately after he discovered it he was escorted (dragged) away from the site. A few days later he was permitted to actually assist in the search/recovery. I can not fathom the loss of family members let alone the entire family.
May family, friends, people like you and me, and god help him make it through.

InactiveThis is such a horrifying tragedy. It is hard to imagine losing ones whole family right before you. My cousins 15yr old daughter was murdered 5 years ago and he and his wife have still are very depressed. I don’t think they will ever get over their loss. Life is fragil and we must all be thankfull for the life we have.

GuestIf you don’t think “home” is everyone on the planet, then you probably shouldn’t be in the business of trying to make money off the Internet.
Yes he’s blunt (but you gotta love always knowing right where you stand).
And if you can’t see the wisdom in that then there is nothing I can say to enlighten you.
But I will add this; it is IMHO important that when something so tragic and on such grand scale happens to other nations that share our planet; that just as neighbors will rally to help out a local resident who might have had a devastating fire (or the such)
That nations respond in the same manner towards each other because when you are talking such devistation on such grand scale; its going to take such great-sized “neighbors” helping out – to restore life to something of its previous existence.
If it were left to just the locals: literally 1000s more will surely die in a diseased, famined atmosphere of which likes I pray we none will ever know.
Action must be taken quickly and on grand scale if we as the world, are to survive this tragedy without experiencing the kind of whiplash that I imagine is to be expected whenever some part of our world is so totally and completely overwhelmed.
IMHO nothing (big) can happen anywhere nowdays, without it having a world-wide ripple effect; and sadly we’re going to get a good idea on how good that theory is, in the very near future.
At this point in time the world is still only being made aware of the devastation. But in the coming months we may all discover that we’ve lost some kind of medicine that only grew in a certain place which was smothered by the sand drifts; etc. that sort of thing.
In the above scenario I can tell you from personal experience that if you have access to some sort of way of hosing the flood silt off the plants, they will still live; but it must be done within a week or so of the onslaught. That is just one of what I am sure are 1000s of scenarios which would fit.
Its our donations that are making it possible for these survivors to get the kind of supplies which are needed to yes…. perhaps save the very medications you may need some day to save your life.
*note the above is just one of many types of similar examples I could have give.
I think there is room for taking care of both home; and our neighbors.
