If my memory serves me correctly when they first started out they actually contacted some webmasters like myself and paid
us $200.00 just for signing up … got the $200.00 sent GOOD
traffic … stats were going good then all kinds of deductibles
appeared and turned into a big loosing proposition.From my 3 categories of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
They definitely belong in The Ugly.

I talked to Trish from CPS today on the phone.
I discussed the following:
Poor conversions (we have clicks and clicks and clicks, no players). We worked out a CPA deal as a trial.
Shaving. Our stats show lots of the above (clicks) with little conversion. Comparative across all micro casinos in our case. I trust Trish, no shaving she said.
Summary. I like Trish a lot, best aff manager I ever talked to…bottom line… results and money in the bank and she said it first. Why is CPS not working?

When I first started promoting CPS I made good money and in May of this year they brought out the shaver. I have been on the phone with Brian and Trish several times about tracking problems (shaving problems) This thread has brought to light that many here have had the same results. they had written at the “other place” in the thread I had started about pushing NETeller; that they’d be glad to make up some special banners with NETeller in them etc;
and I replied in nearly these exact words;

I just invited Trish to CAP yesterday
… not sure if she’ll come and face the music.I don’t believe the owners will change their ways
but I believe in open honest dialogue and
at least they’ll see that no one will be dancing
to their same song anymore.Seems shaving is becoming more and more prevalent and some of these programs just don’t care if their walking all over the webmasters scratching their backs so-to-speak.
This industry from our viewpoint is in dire need of a reputable watchdog that will truly put the odds back in our favors. If only some had the sensibility to move toward a more accepted business model and demand fairness and equality for all – sad day – it really is a sad day.
First I want to start by saying I did not repeat, copy and paste or mention any names at all to Trish. I don’t do those things. Someone told her about this thread and it wasn’t me, she asked me about it, she’s very concerned and wants to help anyone in any way she can.
We just set up on a special deal CPA for trial basis because she knows we’re getting very aggravated with the amounts of traffic we’re sending and not making money. She is willing to work with you, the ones that have given up or thinking about it, please email Trish at [email protected] and give her a shot. She is one of the best affiliate mangers out there, unfortunately that won’t get her bonus points right now.
I just told her I would pass the message on to you all, she would like to go through anyones stats and try to sort things out, if possible work out a better deal for you.
Conversions are down all around CPS right now, but Golden Reef with the new viper software and 1c power poker is at an all time high for conversions.
I’m giving them one more chance, if you don’t want to, I completely understand. It’s a shame more aff managers aren’t like Trish, she really goes all out to help.Ellen I am the one who told her about a negative rating on CAP after I told her why I wasn’t promoting them in an email
… I only gave her a rough picture with NO names and NO cut and paste from the private forum that’s between us all.The key points I made to her were.
1. she was given HIGH marks as an AFF Manager by others
2. CPS was not rated high and many felt they were
shaving.… I was going to post the entire email I had with her but then I noticed that she had “a do not share” disclaimer and I complied with it.
I also invited her to either have me start a public thread
and have her respond or have her start one.The only cut and paste to CAP that I gave her was that of GSN
in the Public area.I did not want to entrap her in coming to the Forum and have
her go through what happened with Marlo.I felt that since many liked her I should at least warn her
that the mood was not favorable and that if she did choose to come to CAP she would have full knowledge of what she could expect. I didn’t want to pull a Jerry Springer on her.:rolleyes:

And I know you wouldn’t or didn’t copy any thread or tell her names etc. I trust all here to not do that.
She needs to know that she’s losing webmasters right and left and what the reasons are.
Trish likes dealing with people one on one especially when it’s something this severe. I would like to see her come post in the public forum here as well, maybe we can talk her into it!
There’s something about her that I really trust and like, always have and when she says that conversions are done, except for Golden Reef, all over the boards, I believe her, I have a hard time thinking she is or is aware of any shaving.
Just hoping things turn around for them soon, or that she gets a good management position at another program where the conversions are better and no funny stuff is going on!Ellen,
Trish just reponded to my invitation …
she basically thanked me for the invitation to CAP …
but she said she prefered one on one and privacy …
and she expressed regret that I would not promote her.Her tone was very courteous, professional and caring.
Now she knows that many believe they are shaving and will
hopefully have them act on this … it sure can’t hurt
having an open dialogue.:rolleyes:

Let’s hope some things change their soon, it’s a shame to waste such a good aff manager! They are few and far between.Guys PLEASE DO NOT discuss any postings or conversations we have here at CAP in the PRIVATE areas with AFFILIATE MANAGERS. I understand this was done in an attempt to help bring about positive change, but this is NOT condusive to free expression with your peers.
I understand no names were used or direct cut and pastes made, but it still violates the trust you should have with your fellow WEBMASTERS.
Aleph, Trish is WELL AWARE that there are trust issues between CPS and affiliates. Ellen can attest to this. This was not news to her, she’s been hearing this since she got there. I had long conversations on the phone with her boss Brian Cooke over a year ago.
I know you meant well, but PLEASE let’s let what’s said here stay here. If you find yourself simply bursting with the desire to spread the word on something you hear then at the very least DONT NAME THE SOURCE AS CAP
This is a great place for us to discuss things without fear of reciprocity by an angry affiliate manager. Let’s keep it that way. Please….
Professor, I totally agree with you on that. I did not mention anything about who said what, or any details, she already knew there was a negative thread here, in fact I told her that I had posted I was removing them at the end of the month if we didn’t see results….that’s the only thing remotely related to the thread that I discussed with her.
I don’t think Aleph knew better to not mention it was even here, I speak to Trish once a week easily and never mentioned it to her, then when we spoke today she told me someone told her about this thread and why coudn’t she find it, she didn’t realize it was a private thread.
She knows I don’t discuss particulars with her and she never asks me to, she just said to let people know she wants to work things out and to give her a shout if they’re willing to try again.I am sorry if you felt I was out of line in any way, but I will never mention to anyone what is said in here.
In fact I think that the thread about Marlo should be done in a private forum….it was a little too brutal and he certainly didn’t handle himself well there. 😮
We need to all do exactly what Professor said, never ever mention any threads to anyone in the private forums.
