This sounds like a great deal for affiliates. However, perhaps you can explain to me why affiliates whould have to email to opt in for such a promotion. Why can it just be open to all affiliates and the stats would prove themselves?

I personally find it annoying when an affiliate program offers a promotion in which an email is needed to opt in. Affiliates are extremely busy working with many affiliate programs. If all affiliate programs offered such an deal, and we had to email each one to opt in, that would take a tremendous amount of time. In short, we would not be able to give our all to each affiliate program as we now have double work. Promotion, PLUS emails.

Is this a means of putting the offering affiliate site first? As we would have to put in that much more time.

No, it does not take alot of time to whip off an email but as I stated above, many affiliates promote a various amount of casinos.

For instance, I have a list of over 200 affiliate programs. Not all gambling but, most are. If say 50 gambling programs offer this same deal at the same time and we needed to not only post, promote and email, personally I find the 50 emails wasted time. Just my 2 cents.

Please don’t get me wrong. I am not putting down yours nor any other program. I have always been curious as to why programs do this from time to time.

Thanks for your message. I understand where you are coming from, but I use this strategy to gather information in order to monitor uptake and success of affiliate promotions and then use the info to tailor upcoming promotions.

Of course the promotion is open to all affiliates, but if I have details as to which affiliates are promoting because of a specific promotion, I can work more closely with those affiliates, in terms of banner placement, creative etc.

I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have more questions.
