InactiveWow .. Looks like a great event.
But … it’s a bit of a hike from New Zealand, and in June I’ll be travelling to the World Cup in Germany … so it looks like I’ll have to give this one a miss as there is only so much jet-setting a hard working webmaster can do …
Bavarian beer halls an all that …
:cheers:but I’m already making a note to check out CAP SpringBreak 2007 …

InactiveThe Spring break sounds great. This is my winter in North America and I miss the 40 degree heat and humidity!! Bring on the surf:bigsmile:

InactiveI hope to be able to attend. Stupid question though, do you need to hire a car – meaning without a car are you well and truly stuck?
Cheers

InactiveHi, is that hotel rate that you negotiated for the entire event or per night? We might consider it as a business trip/honeymoon (we’re getting married in Feb) depending on total costs. Sounds like fun and very informative!

InactiveAnother Question

Is the negotiated rate quoted based on per room per night, rather than per person, as if I do attend, my girlfriend will be coming with me.

vladcizsolMemberNo do not rent a car.
Unfortunately on Miami Beach its tough finding anywhere to park and if you do it will cost you up to $15. The hotels generally charge about $15 a day for parking too. Luckily 90% of the events, dining, drinking and tomfoolery will be taking place at The Palms (I pity their housecleaning staff!) when we do go off site transportation is provided.
If you do want to go somewhere on your own we always take cabs, its actually cheaper that way and there are tons of them around.

InactivePlenty of inexpensive cabs, no need for a car.
If I recall the Hotel price is per room per night. To make sure, check with them.
There are other hotels aplenty around there. Donna found a nice one last year that was quite inexpensive. So if the price of the Hotel is an issue, don’t let that discourage you.

I definately want to go. Just now need to convince my girlfriend it is worthwhile, on top of attending ICE and also CAC in Amsterdam

vladcizsolMemberThe negotiated rate is per night and its actually a very good rate for Miami Beach. We really encourage everyone to stay at The Palms to minimize travel. In the past some people have split rooms to offset expenses.

InactiveThis event seems awesome. I really hope someday I make the journey to the CAP spring break. Right now it just is a little out of the budget.

InactiveJust Miami Beach is reason alone, but you also get the very best of networking there.
If I had to choose only one conference, it would be Miami by a long shot.

InactiveI would love to go, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull it off. We’re moving into our new condo in April (assuming there aren’t any more construction delays), and we haven’t decided exactly how much we’re going to plunk down — 10% for sure, but if we put down 20%, the funds might be a bit stretched.

I had a great time in Vegas, and I was planning to go again this year. But if the CAP Spring Break is actually more fun / more useful than the Vegas event, maybe I should change my plans! Hmmm…….
