InactiveWell i guess i will get this going!
I have a very funny Black Friday story.
I worked retail for about 10 years, and let me tell you, Black Fridays are no fun, everyone has to work it, and the people are unbelievable!
About 7 years ago i was working the dreaded day, and this was the same year that a movie called “Jingle all the way” came out. Starring Arnold schwaxnaggar and Sinbad. Its about two dads trying to find the perfect present for thier son. A TurboMan….a super hero all the kinds love. Very funny movie and all the antics that go with two dads trying to one up each other. Now this is important to my story for this reason.
On Black Friday, i am working the toy section of the store, when this man comes up to me, he was about 35 yrs old and he was frantic. He was shopping for his son, and needed to find a certain doll, but could not remember the same of it. So i asked him to describe it to me, because i had two boys, and i might know the toy. So he starts describing this super hero doll , silver and red, has a jet pack, and was in the Movie Jingle all the way!!!! loll…
So i looked at him and said, “Turbo Man”???? and he got soooo happy, he is like “yes, yes yes. Turbo man!!..Please tell me you have one!!
I about peeded myself..lol….i looked at this poor man and said…”Turbo Man is not REAL!!!…Its was just a doll in the movie!!!!” lollllllllllllllllllllllllllll
He looked at me dumbstruck, and started to laugh, and thought what an idiot he must look like, but i toldhim, no you just look like a dad who has a young son, who saw a superhero and thought it was real, and wants santa to bring it to him…The best thing i could do was bring him over to the Power Ranger Dolls and see if those would do! lolll
After wards, i thought about what i should of said to really make this funny. I could of told that poor man….
“No i am sorry we are all out of TurboMan, But if you run down to the mall, they had one left and it may still be there”lollllllllllllllll.. [ just like the movie] lollllDecember 1, 2008 at 12:30 am #788732

InactiveOK thanksgiving story–
We decided this year to take the family to Plymoth MA to experience the whole history and dinner at Plimoth plantation. Very nice setup and all, we get there early to walk around the plantation and learn about the whole deal so were an hour early to dinner. I have a couple of Captain and Cokes while waiting. Then a couple stands in line to enter the dining room so we follw suit and were second in line. After about 10 minutes there is a large line of people behind us. There were 30 tables holding 10 people each about so there is a LOT of people going in. So we see a lady with her kids line up on the other side of the podioum we are in line at, then her husband comes over and they are standing there like they are first in line. Jennifer doesnt let this type of thing go so she give a look and quite loudly tells me how rude that is and they cant possibly be doing that. After a bit they move to the correct line and all is good. Doors open and we go in to find its assigned seating, so we get to our table and sit, Jennifer runs to the bathroom before dinner starts. While she is gone the family that was jumping the line is sitting with us at the table lol.. Now I am laughing inside as this type of thing always happens when we do somthing and I cant wait for her to get back. She does and she looks at me and just says what are the odds. After all that it was a very nice dinner and no fights broke out so it was all good

vladcizsolMemberOk, we now have two stories. I will leave this thread open until 2:00 PST for any stragglers and then throw up the poll for voting. Right now it looks like Triple777s and Chips have a 50/50 chance of winning.
Anyone else want a shot now is your last chance for an after Thanksgiving treat.

ouromarketingMemberIt was on a thanksgiving day when I was playing thanksgiving games with my friends. We decided to play ‘turkey hunt’. Instantly we did not find a suitable thing to hide as the turkey so we took a lunch box and put a turkey cutlet into it. We used that lunchbox for our game in place of turkey. And it was decided that the one who seeks the box would get the cutlet, as the prize, that was put in that lunchbox. The game started and we all had very much fun in the game while seeking the so-called turkey (the lunchbox). Finally when I found the lunchbox everyone was surprised to see that the turkey cutlet was not there. And only then we came to know that John, who was assigned to hide the cutlet in the box had eaten it instead. And we were all playing the game for an empty lunchbox. Still we enjoyed the game a lot.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!!

InactiveI don’t have a story to submit as we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in South Africa, but I just have a question which may seem really stupid but what is “Black Friday” ? I have never heard of it.

InactiveBlack frida is a term form long ago. When accountants did the books in red ink for losses and BLACK ink for profit… BLACK friday is the single largest retail profits day of the year. It sounds bad but its a good thing!
