InactiveI have to agree, it was a dynamite event. And it is still going on at the Carpe Diem down by the beach. I had a wonderful time.
For me the best part of the conferences is always the people. Many have become old friends over the years, and every conference there are new people to meet and welcome into the circle.
While pretty young girls don’t do much for me, famous people like Doyle and Calvin are exiting and stimulating to meet.
Everytime I attend a conference I come back with new ideas and contacts and this time is no different. Things will be hopping at G&C once I get back, and I bet we’ll be busy until we pick up more inspiration in London in January.
Touching base with tried and true business partners is also always inspiring, these relationships just get better over time and we know each other well enough to be aware that it’s a win-win or lose-lose situation for us. If one of us succeeds, we both do. If one of us does not do well, the other loses too. That kind of business relationship makes for partners that help each other do better and I am very happy to be able to continue cementing these relationships year after year.
I am staying one more day to rest up and enjoy the sights and sun, and then I am heading home.

InactiveOMG what a blast that was.
For me and my sidekick Dean it was a great event, it was also Deans first event which I am sure was a bit of an eye opener into this crazy industry!
Highlights of the trip for me in no particular order:
– Meeting the affs
– Boozing
– Seeing big Doyle
– Boozing
– Hangovers
– Car crash in a taxi which 4 of us survived and made it out to the final nights party even with a sore pinkie!!!
– Errrrr cant remember much else but I know it was a good un.A big thanks to all those involved in putting this bad boy together and sorting out the parties, much appreciated. :hattip:
Hope to catch up with you all again very soon!
Martyn
P.S. Dont forget to vote for me again at the CAPawards as the votes had to be reset! Thanks all. :wavey:

Cant wait for London already!October 8, 2007 at 6:49 pm #750830Anonymous
InactiveAlthough I am feeling terrible after 10 nights out in a row I had a brilliant time and am now looking forward to making London even bigger! My top 5 highs and lows were:
Highs:
1. Watching England beat Australia on 5 huge screens in the expo room
2. Meeting Doyle Brunson and his wife who is possibly the nicest lady ever!
3. Seeing the best ASOP to date and knowing it will be on the poker channel Euorpe
4. Finally finishing the bar tab at the sunday Session after 7 hours and 14 minutes of drinking – Whew!
5. Hanging out with old and new friends from all over the world.Lows:
1. Trying to find a dam taxi at 4am in Barcelona
2. Stuffing inserts into a mountain of delegate bags – It took over 6 hours!!!
3. Finding out the hotel room I booked for the Wednesday night last week was booked for Sept 5th instead of Oct 5th (Joy!)
4. Hangovers!
5. Saying goodbye to everyoneWe will put a survey out soon so make sure you fill it out so we can make the next event even better.

InactiveThere is one thing I would to see somehow in the future, although I have no idea how it can be done.
I would love to be able to meet all the other affs and know who they are in relation to their CAp and GPWA nicks.
Maybe put them on the tag?

We could definately do that as people already enter this when they register – We could then give them the choice of putting this on or not

I only use my CAP name on my tag – it’s the only name most people know me by so what the hell

Had a great time out there – thanks to all for organising it :hattip:
The CAP magazine was a great read this time too btw.

InactiveYeah I like that idea Dom that is great and maybe to have a taxi ring after a party set up would be in order as well

4. Finally finishing the bar tab at the sunday Session after 7 hours and 14 minutes of drinking – Whew!
Hey now that was one hell of a challenge I enjoyed

I have to say to date this is the BEST conference I have attended, hats off to all those who put this together:hattip:

InactiveDitto that – had a great time – such a great time I actually didn’t manage to make the day-time parts of the conference but managed to still meet all the current contacts and of course many new ones too

Awesome event – I really enjoyed the Sunday lay-about session and was more than happy assisting in finishing the bar tab out by the beach

Hip Hip Hooray to the organisers – or for me perhaps “Hic Hic Hooray” would be more appropriate

Looking forward to seeing new and old friends again at the next event

Cheers all
