InactiveCouldn’t agree more the wire act has yet to include the internet. Therefore how is it possible to prosecute? But most people don’t see it this way. The wire act has to be ammended to include the Internet. An impossible task to begin with.
This is where the problems will start. Because no one owns or controls it never mind trying to define it. To be honest this came from Seattle to me a long time ago.

InactiveI have talked with several lawyers now. Please remember that everyone speaking on this has their own agenda. When Bill Frist stands on the Senate floor and says, “Internet gambling is illegal” he has one agenda. Cardplayer has another, and attornies have their own. The attornies all seem to agree that affiliates may have a problem.
The Feds may also use these 2 statutes if they decide to go after affiliates
18USC1955
18USC1952http://trac.syr.edu/laws/18USC1952.html
http://trac.syr.edu/laws/18USC1955.htmlNo one knows what the DOJ is going to do, and there is no way to know. A lot of that may depend on what happens in the election next month.

InactiveI am not a lawyer. Those statutes came from Anthony Cabot.

InactiveThanks for posting that link Adioking.
It pretty much falls in line with my take on the bill. I would like to know if I should move my sites to offshore hosts though.

InactiveI had imagined this scenario happening. What a great technique to chop out the U.S affilliate.

Inactive“If you’re sitting in Costa Rica with your staff, and you’re accepting bets from New York, you’re gambling in New York,” he said.
Hmmm makes me kinda wonder if you are sitting in washington state and buying lotto tickets in ny just where you are gambling?
