Its tough to say now, the blackberry had issues. It requires a BES server for enterprise or blackberry connections from a providor. You were pretty much tied down to research in motion to use a blackberry. The newer iPhone type phones are more like pc’s with a phone in them that relys really on nothing to run as you can even use an ipod with a ip phone service really if you wanted to. and the layout is all digital so any new type of layour is possible, i dont see tiny buttons making a return anytime soon.
Even if ther is a new wave of tech it will be based on the open type platform of the new smartphones.
