Very interesting idea casinojack had here.

Im my opinion if the vocal affiliates out there want to make a difference, create a “buying group”. tell the programs we will bring you 350 players a month but if you mess around we will bury you. These things work, I hope the girl I am thinking of posts here for what she did last week, is the best success story I am read in a a long time.

    Thoughts?

Well if we would all have the same deal/offer I would be game, But if certain affiliates get lesser or better deals I would bow out. I don’t think the size of the affiliates should matter, its the fact that we must remain a solid block together for it to work. I love the idea of being able to turn the tables a bit on the operators.

    My thoughts exactly.

I for one have a hard time predicting which casinos will sign how many players from me month by month – it can vary wildly.

Also, I have mostly lower numbers of higher value players, i.e. I send less players than many affs do, but my players have much higher long term value than most.

Sorting through all that for everyone is near impossible, so it would just have to be a blanket deal.

Does sound interesting and more details of how this would all work would be needed. I can echo Dom’s points as we have no idea from month to month how many signups for which programs will happen, so guarantees are tough. We also seem to have lower conversions but better quality players.

While I like the idea in principle – we’re unlikely to take part.

    1) Client Selection
We have a global focus (Europe, Asia and North America) and only want a handful of casinos / sportsbooks and poker rooms for each region – effectively the best of the best. I suspect that the number of new deals that we would want in 2010 – perhaps 2-3 in total – would be below the threshold required to be a regularly active participant.

    2) Ownership and Control
I still like the idea of making deals, and terminating non-performing partners on my own terms. I would not like to be required to continue to participate in an arrangement that was not performing satisfactorily on my sites.

Good luck with it though -it could work well if you can aggregate a group of like minded sites.

    Good points.

I don’t think the entire group is always going to want to participate in any one deal.

I will only deal with places that are approved by AGD and not rogued or warned against at Casinomeister, for example.

Some of us may already have maxed out deals with some programs.

So maybe it would be in the form of someone posting a proposed deal, and people opting in or out for that particular deal. If we have enough people to make it work, we accept, if not, we decline.

I can see how not everyone will want to participate in every proposed deal, nor should we have to.

But – as a group, we would most certainly have a lot of clout…

Its tough, i still have some programs im doing at below 35%, yet its still up to me to decide. I would like a group deal that I still have the option of dropping. And of course, like EVERY single affilate request I can not place them in the top positions.

I like the idea and a couple years ago probably would have been a participant but my projection for 2010 is zero new programs.I feel like I have outgrown my own capabilities with the number of sites and programs we work with.I am trying to drop off a bunch of programs where possible so i can provide better results for the small handful of programs who have been good to me along the way.
Also I need to catch Paul in sports LOL .I find myself reading every day now and will likely be a betting customer long before I get the hang of the sports thing.
