InactiveThought I would have a look at my stats as well.. and yup.. very different stats. I went back to last year January and now have a total of almost 3K that I did not receive.
Will get hold of Lloyd and see what he says.
Thanks for bringing this up.

InactiveYour welcome and like Kwblue was saying to me last night I can understand why they are not disclosing this to us can you imagine the money they owe everyone? But they cannot sweep this under the rug and think we will just go away.

InactiveI checked my account. In my case the difference is only $60 since January 1, 2008. This is the time period in question, correct? Jan. 1, 2008 through now?
I don’t know how many people know this, but last year Brightshare actually overpaid many affiliates (including me), due to some kind of back-end glitch. They finally caught it after several months, but everyone got to keep the extra money they received.
So, I’m not going to bother them about this. It’s only 60 bucks (for me anyway). Certainly if you’re missing a lot more than that, I would do something about it — but if it’s something small, I would just let it go.

InactiveI am sure they will do the right thing here which is why I didn’t post public on this, I found a total of $1042 missing and an over payment of $188 to me that is enough to dig further into this. If it was a small amount I would not bother either.

InactiveI have spoken to Lloyd and before I tell you what he said – I need to tell you guys that I know Lloyd for a long time and he is in my opinion one of the straightest, honest and morally correct people I have met.
The situation is this –
Ever since they have been working on the new system, they have been doing tests on everything. During this they have found a number of “lost” tags. Lost tags are not tags that did not track properly on their end.. these are tags that were either linked incorrectly by the webmaster or when a player did click on the link but did not sign up immediately.. rather 6 months down the line by typing in the casinos url into the address bar.. This would be long enough for any tracking cookie to be deleted. But mostly it was due to incorrect linking – this happens very often and I can also own up to that.. neglecting links is a big issue of mine

Anyway – since these tags were lost, the owners said that nobody is any wiser and that Lloyd should simply say nothing rather than open a can of worms.. knowing that it would become apparent and this would lead to affiliates moaning. Lloyd said “no”.. he understood that he would be opening himself to this .. but insisted that if it is possible to track down the affiliate that a player belongs to, then he would assign that player to the affiliate – at least that way the affiliate would now earn off that player in the future.
He told me that this process took most part of a year to do just to assign the players to the correct affiliates. Not that there were that many.. simply to actually try and track down from where they came.
Also – initially, the owners did not want to enable the stats to show the past earnings.. because this would lead to where we are now, but Lloyd also insisted that this is an important resource to affiliates and also shows that they are not hiding anything.
The owners do not want to screw the affiliates, they just wanted to prevent a huge uproar over something that they cannot change. The amount of work that would need to go into would be far too immense and time consuming that it would only lead to the program suffering.
I see it this way .. At first I also thought; “Hmmm… money that I did not get? – Give it to me!” – but now I do understand their point as well. Had they not added the players, I would be none the wiser and still thought of Brightshare as one of the best and honest programs around. So now I see it as a confirmation as to how honest they are.. especially Lloyd… and see these players as a bonus for me which I can earn a bit of extra cash from now onwards.
Hope that helped.
K.

InactiveThey are up and up on the whole matter, I even had a incorrect link in the past and they went through and moved over all the players for me for future earnings. They corrected a mistake I made, not them, just as they are doing now. Most affiliate programs would just say to bad you fucked up, be happy they are insuring future earnings on what is most likely your mistakes.

InactiveSounds like a fair course of action to me. I’m not even going to check my stats, only to say that Brightshare’s track record means they have my trust.

True that and I am not going to pursue this either

GuestI could use the money right now but after what Dave said … I’m not sure I’d feel right either.
I gotta look though and if its a new car I’d probably have to ask for half but I’ll eat as much as possible … specially if its my fault to begin.
no chance these missing tags could come from anywhere but our making a mistake with links or the player typing in the url after 6 months?
