bosshoggsMemberIt’s not all sunshine in the Dutch iGaming Market. As an update to this thread, according to fd.nl, if operators do not stop running Dutch traffic within the next 2 months, the KSA (Dutch Gaming Authority “Watchdog”) will hand out fines up to 780,000 Euros or up to 10% of sales.

InactiveWell, I am glad to see that the Dutch have a Gaming Authority. It shows an interest in improving online gaming fairness.

Thanks for the insight, pjotter. From an affiliate angle, should webmasters be weary of a negative impact?

vaselMemberYes I think we should. Can’t find the source on fd.nl you mentioned but if they stop accepting dutch players it seems like an obvious problem for affiliates in the dutch market?

vaselMemberI looked it up a bit further this is what it says on the gaming authority website:
in dutch for fellow dutch affiliates here (i will translate)
De kansspelautoriteit heeft bij de aanpak van illegale kansspelaanbieders via internet een prioriteitenstelling gemaakt en haar focus zal liggen op die aanbieder:- waarvan de website, waarop het kansspel gespeeld wordt, eindigt op .nl en/of;
- waarvan de kansspelwebsite in de Nederlandse taal te raadplegen is, en/of;
- die reclame maakt via radio, televisie of in geprinte media gericht op de Nederlandse markt.
—translation in my words—-
the Dutch gaming authority wil focus (have their priorities) on any operator who
– has a website where you can play gambling games with a domain name ending on .nl (dutch)
– has a website where you can play gambling games and the website is in dutch
– uses tv or radio comercials targeting the dutch market.
i doesn’t say these websites can’t accept dutch players anymore, it says operaters can’t target the dutch marget any more.It will still have an effect i think but since the dutch players are really used to casinos in english it won’t be a big problem.
Anyone else have more information about this? It is all pretty unclear to me.
